You liked Renaissance Art in the first place?

No, but when I first got here it didn't make me convulse on the ground, helplessly. Honestly, had they not used so much gold on everything, I doubt anyone would care about it. Who marvels at midieval art?

Well, I don't know about Northern, but Italians did know how to carve a statue. The problem is, most of the original statues have either been defaced or more commonly removed from the churches and buildings where they were originally intended to go. The David looks out of place on its perch in a museum, which is tucked down an alley in a side neighborhood, not the large and open Piazza della Signoria with the equally cool and odd looking "Old Palace" as a backdrop.

And still, the renaissance was poopey.
