Ok, let me preface this by stating it was a great time with friends I rarely get to see these days. THe con itself had nothing of interest and every year seems to grow away fromt he fans and into something uninteresing ( Read more... )

It was the people not the con that makes it. The cons are generally weak. :0

I dunno if you know, but there's a wikifur entry on RCFM that lists who the previous guests have been - might help you in deciding to go or not.

The way you describe it, you sound like you're slipping into 'burn-out' space for cons; I recognize the symptoms as I used to go to comic cons all the time but quit for much the same reason. I'd walk thru the dealer's room once, never see anything I either already had or wanted, say hi to a few people and then... even hanging out watching anime or something got old =/ Maybe you should just forgo the con completely and concentrate on seeing the city around it with your friends. :)

Not a lot of cities for these cons that are worth exploring, though.
