For my money, this was one of the least successful seasons, although I watched it all the way to the end, which I don't always do. I thought Tony's ultimate motives made some sense, but they didn't really redeem him. And I liked how Kim was written in the big picture, though it could have been better. Was tonight the season finale? I thought it was the finale but it was just so... lame.

It was, but there was a definite lack of dramatic payoff.

Honestly, I saw the channel go to the news. Got confused. Rewound. And, yep, that was the end. I mean, seriously, if the show is coming back, are we actually supposed to assume he dies? He'll be alive and well next time we see him when they probably jump to yet another President's term, when Jack should probably be about 60. So, really, the way they chose to end it? Lame.

I would say it had a strong start but sort of fizzled out at the end. Making Tony the bad guy was a huge mistake in my book. While his motives sort of made sense, they didn't seem in character at all, and frankly it's just no fun watching a beloved character go bad. As you said, no matter what his motives, he couldn't really be redeemed after what he did.

I did think Renee was great and I liked Kim (gasp!) as well.
