Considering they mortgaged a small country to pay for it...

... I'm really not impressed by the ads for "Avatar". It looks like a preachy, blue-skinned "Dances With Wolves".

I haven't seen the ads, but I saw a trailer somewhere and was similarly unimpressed. It still didn't look real to me, despite all the vaunted technology behind it.

It's possible TV can't really transmit the visual quality, but I don't think the story looks appealing anyway.

I don't much about the story but I think it "looks" great. I'll probably go see it for the technical aspect alone.

I'm right there with you on the plot... plus I'm not terribly impressed with the graphics, which would look great on a video game, but seem a bit lacking for something that's supposed to be a live action movie.

Yeah, it seemed very video-gamey to me.

I don't know if I would pay to see the movie and I'm sure there are a lot of people out there thinking the same thing after seeing the promo.
BTW - Hello there.
As promos go - Sherlock Holmes is the one that got me.

Holmes does look good. I'm not sure it exactly seems like Sherlock Holmes to me, but that doesn't mean it won't be a really good movie.

Good to see you around!
