Now that the health scares have flared up and passed on I can write in this thing without feeling weird about avoiding something that affected everything I did for four months. Suffice to say the crisis has passed ( Read more... )

That's ok... one of our friends, who has a full ride to Hopkins and would have graduated with Beverly, just dropped out of school. Why? To dedicate his life to playing poker for money online. So... stay the course, Neddie, you're doin' great!

Mike misses Bev and Ryan as well:)

As for my seafood salad its just crabmeat and shrimp cut small, mayo, salt, pepper, a little bit of mustard (sounds strange, but its damn good) and any other seasonings you want to add. I'm partial to chives. If you're gonna make it, DON'T use whitefish. I hate that shit. Anywhoooo.

I don't really like spinach, but then again I haven't had it in a few years (outside of spinach and artichoke dip, but thats different). I used to hate asparagus and now its my favorite veggie, so you never know.

Now I'm hungry goddammit.

I had the same thought last week, since I'm 3/4 of the way through writing and English majors, which are pretty useless degrees when you think about it, i.e., I'm sure I'll be spending the next few years working in Starbucks.

I'm told you're rather adorable, so if your career as a writer doesn't pan out, we can doll you up and take you down to Guilford. Or Newark, if you're not coming to visit Maryland anytime soon.

As for recipes, here's something quick and tasty. Sear some asparagus in a pan with some oil and a little diced onion. Basil is also good. Make sure to take it off the fire before the asparagus gets too mushy. Next, get some torillas and smear a little bit of cream cheese on them. Slice up a block of Muenster cheese and add that and the asparagus to the torilla. Wrap it and nuke for under a minute (30-40 secs, or until the cheese gets semi-melty.) It's a worthwhile way to clog your arteries.

Isn't it a prerequisite that we'll all have to have spent some time in a coffee shop somewhere? I suppose it won't be too bad, I'll have enough coffee to stay up nights trying to write my masterpiece:P

Its the Italian grandmother syndrome I tell you (mine's a full-blooded Roman). I think I'm going to have to mortify her yet again, being as that recipe looks mighty tasty. (by nuke do you mean pan or microwave?)Anything with asparagus rocks.

Nuke it. Nuke it like a Polaroid picture.

Dammit. I hate making erroneous comments. By "nuke" I mean in the micro.
