ridiculously large picture post.

so many pictures from camp .. i can't stop taking them! however i've been spending more time hanging out with these kids than most of my friends.. so i guess it makes sense in a way. anyway here they all are.

golden gardens:

teddy pointing at a rock.. but it looks like he's pointing at joseph and tattling on him, the thought of which makes me laugh.

chris stahr got very very wet that day.

searching for sandcastle building supplies..

madison beach:

chris stahr asked us to do this, i swear.. haha.

bryce! love him ..

the birthday girls .. see that kid behind me? right after the picture was taken i received an incredibly wet "birthday hug" from him.. hahaha!

charlie doesn't normally style his hair this way .. but he definitely should.

teddy also asked to be buried in the sand .. he thought it was the greatest thing ever.

mr. charlie fischer really wanted me to take a picture of him in the water.. so i did. i think he said it was his first time in the lake or something. haha.

gabe and max.. bff.

cedar river watershed:

remember when my family went on that hike for mother's day and i had pictures of that lake that i felt like jumping into? well apparently that is where the watershed is as well .. and we went to that very same lake. right at the edge of the lake there was a tree.. and while the little kids were gone at the education center, the older kids got to climb in the tree. while they were in there, i asked bailey if i could climb in as well, to which she replied "of course!" so up i went. it was sooooo awesome. you had to get in the water before you could get in.. and it was a huge tree so lots of people could fit in it. after that we sort of went on a hike but didn't have a lot of time .. so it was not very much of a hike.

this was hanging from the ceiling in the entrance.. giant tree roots with lights. pretty incredible.

probably one of the most important things i learned at the watershed..

climbing in trees..

i love the expression on ana's face in this one..

the view below from inside the tree..

august! sweetest girl ever.

alex castanes.. cute kid .. but a little troublemaker. :)

looking up as we were "hiking"..

screaming in front of a huge rock? i don't know quite what else to say except i adore this picture.

sweet little boys posing with leaves? i'm not quite sure why..

this was after we got back from the trip.. but i love this picture because aniya is actually putting her shoes on the wrong foot. awwwww to be five years old..

springbrook trout farm:

i'm going to preface this group of pictures by saying that this was by far my most unfavorite field trip. i hate the idea of fishing, and i really did not want to watch 20 kids catching fish. to top it all off when they caught the fish they would never be able to get it in the bucket right away so it would kind of dangle around and sometimes drop onto the dirt which made me sad for some reason. i also thought for some reason maybe they threw them back but i quickly discovered that the fish were kept alive in a bucket and then somehow killed and gutted for the kids to take home. sick. so glad that field trip is over.

there was definitely one girl who caused me to take pictures though. olivia was the very last girl to catch a fish .. she must have come to me 15 different times for bait because the fish kept stealing it. it reminded me of a similar experience i had as a child, where we had to leave before i could catch a fish. so i really wanted olivia to catch one, and she was very determined to do it. she really would not leave until she caught a fish. so i took some pictures for her. :)

the sign that welcomed us .. i took this picture while the kids were watching the fish get gutted. yuck!

olivia making her final attempt to catch a fish ..

there it is!

she was pretty pleased with herself..

the boys eating lunch in a boat.

seattle center:

our fabulous field trip to seattle center.. remember how i said i didn't want to see chris stahr when he was told he wasn't going with us? well apparently he did not understand why he wasn't going, so bailey had me go in and talk to him about it .. despite that heart-breaking experience, i still had a very good time, and so did the kids. it wasn't as nerve-wracking as i thought it would be either, but i attribute that to my lovely group of girls who were very very good.

first ride of the day .. the little roller coaster!

pirate ship! i love this picture because of august's face.

hugh and cooper were dared to go on the "booster". hahahaha.

about to take off..

i think they're up there somewhere..

craziest ride ever.

using my color accent feature to take a picture of august and her green sno-cone.

ana had gone into the fountain earlier without a spare change of clothes OR a towel. so i gave her one of the two tank tops i was wearing, and the shorts i had in my bag. she walked around all day like that and it was adorable and hilarious.

carnival:

this is the carnival that i was in charge of planning. well, i did some planning, but the kids were definitely responsible for putting it on. basically the older group was doing it for the younger group .. so they came up with the games and everything else, got most of the materials together, and ran their booths/games the day of .. there were lots of cool things, and had my battery not died, i would have taken plenty more pictures.

after the carnival i was also involved in a giant water fight, which resulted in me literally dripping .. and it took me several hours before i was completely dry again. i seriously love my job sometimes.

our lovely fortune tellers..

fishing for candy!

there was face painting ..

.. and pin the tail on the donkey!

and that's all i got before my battery died. :(

wow i'm glad that's done. now i'm going to go watch 'arry pottah. goodnight all!
