Hi, just sort of stumbled onto your personal journal... did you mean to post this in the uofr comm?

Anyway, best dorms hands down are Cortner and Melrose, but usually upper classmen fill those up and new students don't really have a shot at it.

Classes and professors... that's a tough one to advise you on without knowing you or what you plan on majoring/emphasizing in.

As for Johnston, I think Sarah (iria_2001) sums it up the best here.

Have you toured the school yet?

heya rosanna
hehe thanks to al, you've probably read all about the integration, community, etc aspects of johnston.
and personally, i think bekins in bombin! cortner and melrose feel like weird hotels.

the people are diverse, the academic interests are diverse. and most profs here are kewl.
what are u into studying? i read in your interests u like acting? thats hot.
i do theatre and music...musical theatre...
so we should talk.
let me know what youre into and i can give u some names/suggestions. johnston is a really good place to do artsy stuff. but also a good place to do sciency stuff
its just a good place.
but im not biased or anything.

Well,my interests are rather varied. I applied to Redlands as a creative writing major. Writing is my true passion. I love it to death! I hope to be a HS english teacher one day and possibly a screenwriter. I'm a huge debator, and I enjoy history too. I'm also a big advocate of education. I've always been really close to all of my teachers at my HS....in fact, i will prolly miss them more than my parents! haha! ive also wanted to study sociology and cultural differences (im biracial; hispanic/white)....so can you give me some suggestions with that mix?

Oh, what are the positives and negatives of community living? is there anything i should know ahead of time.

heya
hehe
you sound like the quintessential Johnston student.
lots of mixing, not realy knowing where youre going.
its a good thing. u have time.
well sociology, education, multicultural studies and writing are GREAT things to integrate. u can go anywhere in them. i would definitely encourage you to go johnston!
people to talk to: sara schoonmaker, pat wasileski in sociology. kimberly welch and julius bailey in race and ethnic studies, and leela madhavarau in multicultural/women's center. talk to carlos arboleda, our associate director, about education. screenwriting/media- kelly hankin.
sounds like u could have a hot contract.
