a nice post to the Jericho message board

We just received this post from Lennie James, who plays Robert Hawkins on the show. We got "thanks for the effort and it was an honor to have worked on this show for you" posts from almost all of the cast and a few of the recurring extras over the course of three weeks. Nice letter. It is very cool he is such a good writer and that he took the time to thank the fans. I just wish that that high paid CBS marketing people should have been able to do that. That is what angers me. The actors are in some cases far better at doing what the people running the show should be doing. Glad this time it actually worked out.

I do wonder how many shows that are cancelled from here on out will get this kind of reaction since it *did* work. I know the typical letter writing and phone calls with a few protestors have been ignored over the last decade; maybe from now on various show cancellations will start innundating the offices of the stations with tons of whatever to get them to wake up.

I really do hope they change the Neilson thing, I know that I have never fit their standards, and I have even been a Neilson household a couple times!

Yeah, the Nielsons have to change. There are supporting statistics that said that Jericho's ratings were 10% higher than the Nielson figures when DVR viewings were factored. Suddenly 8.4 million average viewers becomes 9.2 million +. That's not factoring in webcast hits. Jericho was the most viewed show by a longshot on CBS's Innertube webcast system. That much has been admitted but a weekly viewer figure has never been released.

Oh, one reason Lennie James can write so well is that he's British :) So he actually learned grammar and spelling in school ;)
