this is FANTASTIC! Chemically altered? Really? Or walking through the looking glass?
What does Mila know? What does she see? And Quentin with Mila in the bar/restaurant is such a completely different person!
Exactly, PERFECTLY the right length. This is a stunning piece of work! Gorgeous and I feel like I'm looking at the ship with Captain Quentin and understanding why she's not in love with it.
She's usually in some type of mind altered state. Usually to keep her out of her nautical delusions.
As for Mila, she sees a disturbance in her life prior to her sister's disappearance. All the years spent hoping her family would reform are slowly unraveling before her. They take on the persona the other one needs them to at that time. It's a constant shift of strong and weak betwixt the two.
Ah, I'm glad. I had much more to add to this chapter. My game was being evil and not allowing me to obtain the shots, though. So, I posted what I did have. And I'm delighted that you could feel Quentin's faded love for her once cherished ship. ^^
I feel sad for her ship. ':( It went through chopper waves and swashbuckling enemies with her, but she wished for a bigger, better, more magnificent replacement. I wondered what made her become disenchanted by it though. :\
I worry about her lack of medication too. Mila is sort of demanding her to be a pillar of support, but how could she if her condition takes a turn for the worse? Mila knows about her condition right? (Erm, is condition a correct word to use?)
Also, I am IN AWE with your mad clutter skils. At first, I didn't realise her location "changed", until the shot with her full arm tattoo and I just gasp in surprise and scroll back to reread everything, haha.
I'm a breathlessly blown away. I didn't know that was possible until now. Stunning shots and breathtaking writing. I love the way you've done the transition between present day Quentin and Captain Quentin.
I think there's more going on with Quentin than just a case of having to be chemically altered. I'm with S.B. on the looking glass.
To some extent I can understand why Mila needs her friend right now but she came across as a little inconsiderate. Whatever Quentin's condition may or may not be, I don't think she has any control over it hence the medication so for Mila to suggest she should keep it under control is a little insensitive.
Your comment made my entire week. Thank you so much.
It took me a while to work out how to make the transition between the two. They're both technically present day Quentin. I just didn't know how to merge the two scenes. I'm hoping it was a fluid switch.
Maybe. Maybe not. You shall have to wait and see.
Mila can be that way, it's one of her negative traits. However, she has been very supportive of Quentin and her disorder over the years. This support doesn't always stop her from being insensitive at times.
That will come soon. Next few chapters. 'Tis all I shall say.
Sometimes one just needs a change of scenery. She's appreciative of the service her ship put in, but it's just time for her to move on.
I think I've mentioned previously that Mila can get lost in her own little world. When she does that, she doesn't really consider how much she's asking of Quentin. Condition is appropriate. Though, "disorder" is more fitting.
Hehe, thank you, dear. Cluttering up my scenes is my favorite part. I could spend hours just cluttering rooms. Awesome, I was hoping to have an effect somewhat close to that.
I'm going to agree with everyone here... your sets are sooooo gorgeous and I too am envious of your clutter skills.... can you consider that a skill? :O Well you've got a great one.
It's interesting going into Quentin's head like that. The Bejewelled Buccaneer seems like a very interesting character. I'm wondering how much of her we'll be seeing soon. And I hope for Mila's sake too that Quentin could be strong.
So happy to catch up on this. Now I can look at your outtakes/bloopers. :D
I'm glad you find them to your fancy. I'm so finicky when I'm composing sets and cluttering them. Yet, it still ends up looking like a slob purchased everything at a garage sale and threw it in a room. Hurrah, clutter skills!
Well, Quentin has some interesting thoughts. Diving into them is always an interesting process. There will probably be a little more on her nautical, swashbuckling self in the future.
Quentin has her issues, but she can develop a thick skin if necessary.

Now, I'm dying to know about her mom and Carey.

As do I. It's bothersome. Grumble, grumble.
