The Election is approaching, but I don't think my friends are paying close attention to the candidates. I thought it would be a good idea to have a blog on Obama and McCain beliefs and issues. i'm confused, isn't stem cell research based around abortion, like they use the stem cells from the fetuses? then how would mcain not believe in abortion?

I think they take the stem cells from the uterus just after a baby is born. You can sign up to have them take samples. I'm pretty sure.

McCain probably supports adult stem cells. You can obtain these cells from umbilical cords, placentas, corpses, adult tissues, etc. There is no danger involved.

If you obtain embryonic stem cells, you kill the embryo. But here's comes the ultimate ethical question: Does it really matter? Scientists grow clones in labs (in vitro, of course), and they take all the stem cells they want. Is this ethical? *shrugs*

Well yeah that's what I'm talking about. I mean, people don't kill embryos just for the stem cells. THAT would be unethical.They take them from the wanted abortions.
