planned obsolescence

if the first light bulb that edison invented all those years ago is still burning today in the smithsonian museum, then why does my nightlight need a new bulb every few months?do we know when we start that we expect it to end? is that expectation what causes it to end? or was it doomed from the start? do we purposefully get ourselves into messes ( Read more... )

You know, I've often wondered the same about myself...is knowing something will happen the same as making it happen? I just can't tell. Am I a slightly precog witch, or a neurotic bitch? Sigh...

Sometimes, though, just the act of looking for the shoe tells you that all is not as it should be.
