Pardon the caps, but it is how the NWS posts such things. Here is their report for the big cell that went over the Endgame site Sunday afternoon. Harrisville, NH, where this damage took place, is at the top of the ridge that is about 10 miles west of the site.

I was on the back porch of Monster Camp when the line of trees just over the drop-off disappeared from view. One second I could see them, the next was nothing but blackness and my first thought was: "If I were in Oklahoma, I'd be headed to the basement right now."

Leaving the site, there were trees laying across the powerlines on Sand Hill Rd.

I knew I was trying to dig myself into a hole in the ground for a reason (aside from the sheer terror of standing next to an oak tree in a thunderstorm on top of a hill, anyway. ;) )...

But then I thought it was fun to tightrope walk along the edge of the grand canyon.

Was there a safety line? If so then youu were only slightly crazy. If there wasn't then you get the OMG are you crazy.
