Dioxippus was awarded the Pankration(mixed martial arts) championship by default in the 336bc Olympics when no man would face him in combat. Pankration itself was introduced into the Olympics in 648bc. The 2004 Olympic commitee decided against allowing modern mixed martial arts. It's amusing, I think.
