Doggies

I know my animals are not perfect but sometimes in arguements with my hubby about them he makes them seems worse then they are. So I was wondering about everyone elses views on their dog(s), if you have anything else to say place it in the comments.

However, sometimes they have to be disciplined about 4 - 6 times a day .... depending how much they don't listen to me. =0/ But I love them.

our dogs piss us off allllllllll the time... they fight over bones... jump on the couch... chase the cats.. then again, we have 4. :)
petsmart training really really helped Eddie listen a lot though, i'd highly recommend that. our dogs are all still young yet, theyll grow out of it. i dont know if your dogs are fixed, but that helps too..

I hear ya. Minus two of your dogs and that's what mine do. I want training but we have no petsmart here and all of the trainer classes are $90 or more for each. =0/ Paige is fixed, Surka isn't but I dunno if Josh will ever want to get him fixed or not anyways. And I know some of it they'll grow out of once they get older and calm down, as Paige is only a year and a half, and Surka's not even a year yet. I know their good dogs even though I punish them a lot. And they have gotten better then they used to be. It's mostly Josh telling me that they're bad/they haven't learned anything (since I'm really the only one whom disciplines them, takes care of them, and pays attention to them) and since he only sees me either hitting them (not always hard, sometimes tapping Surka's nose) because they are not paying attention to me yelling at them not to do something, and thinks I'm either doing it too much or they just aren't learning at all and the way he yells kinda makes it sound like he's blaming me (even if that's not what he means). Grrr ( ... )

at least, if you can afford to get ONE dog in (which is how we did it), you can learn the tricks to teach the other dogs on your own.

watch the dog whisperer, too. :) it always inspires me to want to work with our dogs more. lol.

hmm.. what do you use for flea and tick control? off topic, i know. lol

Maybe .. we'll see ... truthfully the way both of them act is so different we need to bring both to training. And since this past summer when we were swarmed with flees we have been really able to control it. We get the pets Advantage (since you can apply more then one in a month span if needed), I'm planning on getting Fluffy shaved once maybe twice a year (since she enjoyed it more and that way the flees can't hide out in her fur like what happen last summer), and we signed a contract with Terminex so every few months they come and spray our house (since we signed a contract it's cheaper then having the house get sprayed whenever needed). =0)

Oh! I voted backwards too... I said 8 but I guess I wanted 2... haha, sorry...

Anyways, my parents have 3 dogs. The used to bark ENTIRELY too much so my parents got these remote shock collars.

Whenever they do something wrong, we press a little zap button and they get a tiny little shock. I know it sounds horrible, but we have it on a really low setting.

For one of the dogs, it only took zapping her once. For the "alpha dog", it's taken several zaps, but they definitely behave a lot better now!

There are ones that zap them everytime they bark, but we wanted ones that we could choose when to zap them. We thought it was kind of cruel to zap them when they're just playing.

So yeah... that's probably more than you ever wanted to know about my dogs, haha

LOL. That's what Josh wants to get ... or at least suggests sometimes getting one of those zapping collars. But I dunno ... maybe. I'm just scared about hurting them like that.
