A little sumthin' sumthin'

I have a bit of downtime before Mike's finished getting ready.  It's already 2:30PM, but having the Olympics on sucks away a lot of time, as I'm sure many have noticed.  "This just sucks.  It's crap."

Last night I got pleasantly blitzed with Mike and 2 of his friends and watched some live music at a club/bar.  Mike's bro, Colin is a drummer in one of the bands that played, their first gig.  He wore a Carebear suit, too, which was very special.  I wish Colin wasn't so shy, because I think we would get along nicely.  We have compatible music tastes, at the very least.

To sum things up as succinctly as I can, I hafta say this is my best visit with Mike.  I find this kinda amusing, since we're not officially "together" now.  Actually, that might be the reason things are going so well.  No pressures, just having a fun time together.  He works on not being so cynical, and I try not to be so sensitive.  We make an excellent pseudo-couple!!!

To highlight my past couple of weeks (for my sake, let alone any potential reader's):

Activities (in no particular order): Went miniature golfing, and i left a converse star imprint in some plaster they were using to fix up the place.  I was completely unaware of what I did until Mike pointed it out, so that makes it okay in my book.

Went to my first Ikea store.  Those places give me headache!  Also went to Guelph (sp?), where Colin goes to school.  Nice place.

Camping with Mike!  We are amateurs for sure.  We didn't even cook our own supper, just brought sandwiches and lots of candy we'd bought earlier.  But, we were so thrilled when we got our tent up, and only on the second try!  Campsite was right next to Lake Ontario, a pretty area.

Toronto for a day.  That wasn't so hot, 'cause I was snappy all day.  But, I love the city... just 'cause it's a big city.  Experienced vertigo when riding up this immensely steep escalators with a slanted wall backdrop.  Very creepy!  Oh yeah, heh.  We took a train in, and there were some drunk/drugged up teenies sitting behind us.  At one point, this girl drops her pants and her "friend" slapps her ass as hard as he can (I was falling asleep, and the cracking noise the hand made scared me to death), while another "friend" tapes the whole thing.  I think she was a voyeur though, 'cause she seemed to enjoy it.

Went to London (in Ontario, silly!) for a couple of days, where Mike goes to school.  Met his uni. friends for the first time, a nice group of guys.  Went to a couple of bars/clubs, not so hot on that.  That's never really been my thing, but I thought I'd give it a shot.  Went to the London Art Museum... Saw his school, got a nice tour of the Visual Arts Centre.

Been eating out a lot and running... well, not so much.  But, started feeling guilty, and feeling a couple of pounds added to my frame from the sudden excess in drinking, so started again this week.  So, I can eat as I normally do, and not worry so much.  Plus, it's still my goal to do the marathon in October, so what choice do I have, anyway?

Oh yeah!!!  I saw my parents and Amy in Buffalo, New York last week!  Went with Mike and his parents, we met up in some big mall and had dinner.  Once again, ironic that my parents meet Mike's when we're not dating.  I think they got along well.  I'm glad Amy and Mike got to see each other again, since they've always had a good friendship.  And, I got to catch up with my sis, which is always a desirable thing!

Been reading comics (X-Force), playing phone Tetris (the only thing it's good for, being in another country), movies (Collateral; AVP; The Village...

Oooh!  Had stepped away from the computer just for a moment, 'cause I saw a cardinal!  They are very pretty.

Alright, I'm done and tired with my list, so it's over.  I've caught up with the more importants, and I can always add in something I forgot, eh?  Oh, I'm saying "eh" a lot more now, which sounds horribly cliched, I know, I know!  Can't help it!
