Ramblings of the snotty and grotty

Ha, just found my notebook (the old-fashioned kind that you write in, not those gadget thingies!). Total score. There was some consternation last night when I couldn't find it and faced a frustrating couple of days of rewriting the epilogue to PLPP and the plan for His Saving Grace. It's weird how once you've written something the prospect of ( Read more... )

I loved the last chapter, everyone coming together and getting Lucas and Isobel's heads on straight. It was great and I'm kinda sad now to see it over :(

Oh hold on, I think I'm catching your cold *coughMarkNeedsHisOwnStorycough* Oh dear, pardon me.

I hope you feel better soon, being sick this time of year sucks (but it's better than being sick in summer when you actually have the will power to go out. Amirite?

I'm kind of sad to see PLPP over too. Especially as I mess about with the epilogue and properly send them all off into the ether.

Mark? Really? Oh, how awesome are you? Mark is definitely my favourite character in PLPP, he's wicked fun to write. I really hadn't thought about giving him a story, I like how uncomplicated he is. Maybe I'll give him a oneshot one day?

I have a talent for stupidly lingering colds, but I'm so with you on the not having a cold in summer thing. I've had that a few times and it adds that extra level of insult to injury!

Cheers, Jess

while i have loved private lives, public property, i was entranced with grace and alex since they were first mentioned in so much to learn. i can't tell you how often i check to see if you've managed to update his saving grace, and how excited i am to hear you may be working on it more. your characters always have such depth and are so dynamic because they are always so multi-faceted and their interactions with others are so genuine. i hope you pursue writing because you are very gifted at it!

Wow, I love that you got such an impact out of Alex and Grace when they were hardly mentioned in SMtL and I only just started their sequel. That's awesome though, I was worried people would be all like 'who?' when I attempted to write their story. I promise they are my next project and I've been flinging ideas around in my head for months now of how I'm going to approach it.

Thank you so much for being so nice about my characters. I feel totally giddy thinking that someone believes they have depth. You're awesome to say so and I really, really appreciate it.

Cheers, Jess

Thanks! I can't believe it's almost over either. I wish the same could be said of this stupid cold!

Fabulous last chapter! I too loved the ending of it! It left you with the feeling that it would end well very powerfully (if that makes sense).

i loved it...and you updated quite fast what a pleasant surprise (:
but the last chapt was a little too short for my liking. i love to indulge in your writing! love your writing style.
mm and the turn of events from 2 last chapts was like woah a little abrupt but i like the twist to it. waiting for the epilogue! thanks for such a great read (: romance with a little substance

Thanks so much for letting me know you liked the last chapter. I'm sorry it seemed short, I've ended up with this crazy long chapters now! That last one was about 20 pages. I hope it wasn't too abrupt, I'll work on that in the re-edit.

Cheers so much for commenting, I'll dine off the 'romance with a little substance' comment for a fair while I reckon!

Bless you, that totally makes sense! That's what I was after, that feeling that things would sort themselves out. In a way it was an ending I didn't really expect to write that way, but then I couldn't seem to get past it so I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Cheers, Jess

I'd stopped checking fp daily because I figured that you wouldn't update again for at least a month! Like everyone else, I'm glad for the update but sad to see the story ending. As for the chapter itself, I loved Callie's slip of "intention" for "intervention", that Gary was involved in the scheme as well, and Bridget's comment when she announced she had a card to the apartment. And, because I'm on Aussie slang patrol, I thought I'd mention that I don't think "rocked up" is used in the States. I've never heard it before at least :)

Haha! I tricked you with my quarter year long absence just to throw the last chapter at you by surprise! Thanks for saying you enjoyed the update, but are sad to see the story go. Me too. I love that you mentioned Gary because when I originally wrote that scene I was looking at it and thinking 'what's missing' and then was like 'Gary! Gary's missing!' and stuck him in.

Oh, yay, slang patrol! You must let me know when you see stuff because (as I'm sure I said before) I'm fascinated by differences in lingo. So we should chalk 'rocking up' as an Aussie thing? Maybe you should introduce it in your area: 'yeah, sure, I'll rock up after tea' stuff like that.

Cheers so much for reading and letting me know your thoughts.
