November Lost

Nov 29, 2009 10:11

November has completely passed me by. I'm so weirded out that next week I'll start writing '12' as the second set of numbers in the date. I usually hate those posts where people whine about being so busy lately, but I feel I must succumb briefly so... I've been so busy lately! It's been a nasty mix of insanity at work, illness and the death of one ( Read more... )

I am so so so sorry to hear of your friend passing away. I know where you are, my best friend passed away in 7th form (3 years ago) and I don't really know what else to say except that you and your group of friends should stick together and keep remembering because it's what got us through. (Also sorry I would have sent this in a private msg but for some reason as computer literate I am I can't get my head around LJ!!)

I can't believe Australian Idol is stil going either!! The worst part is NZ idol crashed and burned like 5 years ago so now we get Australian Idol on our screens - no thank you!!!

Good luck for your December, it'll be tough but just keep breathing through it.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I know some people can be eloquent about death, but I just seem to have a running mantra in my head that goes 'this sucks, this sucks, this sucks'. It's still a bit raw for me, but I'm really looking forward to the 'looking back, remembering and laughing' part that I know I'm due.

Moving on, there was a NZ Idol? Man, I would watch that show over Aussie Idol any day. Sorry on behalf of my country for inflicting our Z-list celebrities on you! Hey, Ladyhawke won an Aria though so the lines between us are blurring.

Thanks for being so lovely, I'm slowly but surely pulling myself back together!

Cheers, Jess

You're right, it does suck. It's really really shit, and I still get angry about my friend not being here, but you will get through it and it puts life in perspective for you! You're such a creative person, my suggestion to you is a brain dump. Just write everything you can think of about your friend, the things you loved, the things you hated, the things you never told them. Very therapeutic let me tell you!! And cry - do it! Lots! It's not something any of us should have to deal with at this stage in our lives, it's a fcking piss poor card to be dealt. Oh, and as a side suggestion - don't run out and get a raging tattoo anywhere!! (I nearly did and am so thankful I didn't, when you're still angry about it and it's that raw that's all you'd remember when you looked at it). Just keep breathing, that's the best advice I was given and I wanted to pass that on to you.

That sounds like a thoroughly sucky November, here's to hoping the rest of our year is much better.

Thank you so much. Have you ever noticed in books and films that people really hate condolences and throw them back in everyone's faces because they're so distraught? I'm the opposite...even if it does mean that I end up crying a whole lot more than I mean to because everyone's being so nice.

2009 definitely goes down as the fastest year on record, it's truly weird to already be in December.

Thanks for being so nice.
