A nudge in the creative direction

Mar 31, 2010 18:16

Righto! So, despite currently having a story on the go which I'm updating weekly, I'm creatively bored out of my tree at the moment. In my time of boredom I turn once again to you guys and respectfully request that you help me out of my bind.

I would like to write another quick one-shot made up of prompts/challenges/whatever ala This One Last ( Read more... )

First off...The Far Pavilions. I was so obsessed with getting through this book...I read it while I was home from college for the summer. It was so humid and I remember reading by the pool.

Second, Fire Starter and Jolene...awesome!

Oh my goodness, how good is The Far Pavilions? When I read it I become obsessed with proving to my friend that he loved his horse WAY more than the chick.

Can only agree with you that Fire Starter and Jolene are awesome songs!

That book was a monster to get through. Very interesting read though...I felt that I learned a lot about the culture by the time I got all the way through it. I agree...not so much about the horse but that she was definitely way more into him than he was into her. I actually watched the miniseries for it as well...made in the 80's with really bad casting. Loved it.

If you could go back in time, what would you change?
Bastard (hahahaha, oh so true!)

That cracked me up so bad! Definitely a nice line to read for any in need of a good boost after a jerk-a-phase in their love life ;)

I'm a huge fan of you and your writing. Friends?

Glad I gave you a laugh, it was definitely something that made me pause for a chuckle. Shuffle obviously knows me well!

Thanks for saying you're a fan, of course friends!

Hmmm. What about a one-shot that follows Andy's on a back packing adventure through Europe? He is such a free-spirit and I could see him have a good time. As for random items to include, I'm drawing a blank. He reminds of someone who would take a doll (or some inadament object) on his trip to get it in as many pictures as possible. You know -front row of Chill Peppers concert, on top of the Effel Tower, high-rolling casino table in Monte Carlo, haha, the usual. Think about all the random cats he would run in into too! Sigh. He and his surfer need to make a re-appearance in my life.

Oh wow, awesome idea! I've lost all possible free time at the moment, but that's definitely an idea that I'm going to mull over now. I've already thought about what the inanimate object is going to be called - Alessjandro.

Thanks so much for the suggestion and I'm so glad Andy made such an impact on you!

Leaving comments all over this place illustrates MY boredom, but I loved my "what's your purpose in life?" song.
I always knew I had a weird affinity for animals, but "Walking the dog" is taking it a bit far. :)

And I don't know if I'm thinking the right song, but if you're planing on dancing to NoFX, I'd love to see that particular wedding video.

Haha, well at least your dog will be exercised if that's your purpose in life.

You are definitely thinking of the right song and I'm so totally going to play it at my wedding. Thinking of my mum dancing to 'Mean People Suck' is more than reason enough to do it!

I hate to break it to you, but I doubt many people will be... er.. dancing... to it. :)

Maybe, though, you could make them play "I gotta pee" every time before they take a break. :D
