I'm officially having an 'I suck' night. I've finally found some time to write, I have over 5,000 words all ready to go for the next Lighthouse Charlie chapter, the only problem? Everything I've written looks like complete rubbish ( Read more... )

I'm sure that it is not rubbish. Writers are always hard on themselves. You know your characters and if you feel like you are having them act out of character just take a step back and think things out. Don't feel like you have to rush things to make us (the readers) happy...I would rather wait until you are happy with the chapter ( ... )

You were right, it really did come down to giving up that night and then coming back the next day to see how it helped. To be fair I never quite got them to the point that I wanted them to be at, but it really was time to just let that chapter go!

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter regardless. You're right, there's a little bit more to the Max drinking stuff, but, on the whole, it was about him finding it difficult to come back. Last time he saw Charlie, remember, he'd just made out with her and ran away, he wasn't exactly sure how well he'd be received back!

Spot on! Leaving the chapter alone for a little while really helped (although I did get a sinking 'oh no, not THIS chapter again' feeling when I started in on it again!).

I was about to say that it was strange you were unable to access the next chapter, but then I just tried to go to it and it wasn't there. That's irritating! Maybe FP is doing some quality control and is like 'nope, that chapter was rubbish, I'm not subjecting your readers to it'. Huh, I can access it when I log in, but it's not there when I'm anonymous, weird. Hopefully that will sort itself out, if not give me a holler and I'll send it to you.

Anyway, please don't kill Charlie (or Max, because I love him). I think LC is awesome with sprinkles and if it takes you years to write a chapter you are satisfied with (let's hope not) then we'll wait :)

Your reviews are definitely famous in my mind so I think that totally counts.

I promise I won't kill Charlie or Max (ah geez, there goes my grand plans for LC ending in a shoot out!). Thank you so much for the support. I'm working on the next chapter and, even better, I'm thinking about it before I go to bed at night which is really the best sign for me.
