I'm going home!

Aug 05, 2010 09:43

Yes, 'tis true, I'm returning (ever so briefly) back to where I began. Two plane flights and a four hour drive will see me home for a total of three days before I zip back out of there. I'm so ridiculously excited. My friend is having her big 21st bash and it's going to be one of those good old-fashioned 'the entire district is invited' deals. What ( Read more... )

Haha! I know, right! (I grew up in a small country town in northern New South Wales.) News travels SO fast in those little towns.

That was a few years ago now and I still get asked by friends which do I like better. It was alright for me because all my family moved here with me - I know it'd be different if I had moved away from home by myself.

And I hope you dodge the matchmakers *hides*. It's hilarious. "Oh, do you remember so-and-so? You went to highschool with him. He's single now" *hint-hint-nudge-nudge* 'Tis good the art of subtley still lives on ;D

A powerpoint sounds like an excellent idea. *nods*

I hope you have an AMAZINGGGGG time dear! have lots of fun :)
xx erika

I'm the same as you, my whole family moved and it was years ago, but I've gone back every summer so I keep sort of in with the gossip. It's had to know which is better. I moan about it when I'm there, and miss it terribly when I'm not.

Ergh, matchmakers, no good at all. They love it though so you sometimes just have to reluctantly smile and nod and agree that 'yes, despite the fact that Mr X is five years younger than you, he has turned out to be a good looking chap'!

I did have an amazing time, thanks. Amazing and, well, intense!

I know the feeling! And that Maya Angelou quote is absolutely lovely. Enjoy your time home!

Maya Angelou is a genius, I love her writing. Thanks for your comment, and your avatar is so appropriate (although I can safely say that, unfortunately, I didn't kiss Hugh Jackman while home).

If there was some way that automatically, by traveling to Australia, a person had the option of getting kissed by Hugh Jackman, I'd be there tomorrow. :)

Sounds perfect, I'd give anything to be at home even just for a few days!! Enjoy it and refresh the batteries and change up the "this is what i'm doing now speech" every few people for shits and giggles :)

It's great to go home, but really hard to realign afterwards. I'm still floundering a bit. I definitely mixed the story up a bit, you have to for your sanity! It'll be interesting to see what I ended up getting away with...!
