So, yeah. I kind of dropped off the radar there for a couple of weeks. The shorter version of why: teaching is bloody hard work, and very time consuming ( Read more... )

Hi, ages ago last year I came across your blog and discovered you'd been an assistant in Alsace and asked how you did it. Well you sent me the links and some really helpful information and guess what - I am now an assistant here! But even more interestingly I am an assistant at Lycee Robert Schuman in Haguenau! On Friday I was having lunch at Sylvie Miller's house and she was telling me about an assistant called Jessica. Later I went to update my blog and saw your blog name stored in the history so I put two and two together and I'm guessing I have your old job!

Squee!!! You so do have my old job! That is very exciting :-D How are you finding the crowd at the lycee? Mostly they're a harmless lot - is it still the same people? When I was there, it was Sandrine, Sylvie, Damien (who's still one of my best friends in France, love him to bits), Marianne, Sophie, Nadine and Pascale. Sylvie I got on with well, and Sadrine, Marianne and Damien too...it's a bit spooky that they *still* talk about me, tho nice too, obviously. Anyway, make sure you say hi to people for me! I'm hoping to make it out there in February, so maybe if I do I'll be able to come by and say hi :)

Are you also at the College Foch? When I was there, I spent 9 hours at the lycee, and three at the college, don't know if it's still the same or not tho..

Anyway, I hope you have a fantastic time, and if you need any help at all, about Haguenau, or Strasbourg, or teaching, just shout!

The teachers here now are Damien, Isabelle D, Nadine; Judith; Sandrine; Isabelle M, Sylvie; Sophie, Pascale and Marianne. So pretty much the same! Today's my first day so just had two classes, one with Pascale and one with Sandrine which went fine. I have two classes this afternoon with Nadine. All my classes are here at the lycee so but I've been passed the College Foch! I'm actually living in Strasbourg so Sylvie has offered to walk me to the station this afternoon so I can figure out how to do it! It would be great to see you if you drop by in February :)
