Congrats on becoming a teacher and all that :) Optimism really helps the job :D
I have been working as an unqualified primary teacher specialising in Maths over the last year. Started in April and was finally given my temporary teaching credential in September. I then took a month off in December, with the ambition to go to London, but decided it wasn't for me really. I am going back in January and will then turn the temporary credential into a full one over the next two years, also working as middle school coordinator and ambitions on becoming headteacher! Sounds so scary though :P
It does sound a bit scary, but ambition is good and all that :) I think for now I'm just focussed on being a good teacher - my class are hard work (I'm primary too) and if I can crack them, I'll feel like I've really achieved something. Good luck to you too!
Thanks for that! I joined the school in April and despite there being a lot of very disruptive kids, the school's concept is based on learner-centred classrooms BUT we do not have classrooms, just a huge learning atelier. It is GREAT, and I love the concept, it is just a struggle getting them to work together!
I have managed to crack most of the kids, which I am very proud of. Now I just need to get back into work and .... well... do it!
Keep me posted on how you are doing, maybe we can swap ideas!
