The weird health problems just keep stacking up for me! I didn't get any sleep last night because I kept suffering from repeated blood sugar crashes. I'd get all shaky and sweaty and dizzy, unbearably so, so I'd stumble my way out to the kitchen and eat a little something and wait till I felt okay. And then I'd go lay back down, only for it to ( Read more... )

That sucks. You should have had Thanksgiving at my uncles'. They not only had turkey, but ribs and blood sausage. Mmm...

Call me when the coronary sets in... that Mac Attack can't be good.

But I thought you said your family thought I was the devil or something...

No coronary today. For the first year ever, the McDonald's here decided to close on Thanksgiving. I was PISSED. They're losing a lot of money from the lonely loser demographic by doing this!

If it makes you feel any better: It took me years after watching Tiny Toons before I made the Yosemite Sam/Montana Max and Elmyra/Elmer Fudd connections.

I remember that exit being the last one got, too, and what bothered me was that I had the official Player's Guide for the game, but even that doesn't directly mention that hidden keyhole! It's on the map, but I had to find it on my own, not even realizing which stage had the one last exit I was missing! And even when I figured out where it was, it was quite tricky to reach (I pretty much depended on luck)!

Mr. Monk and the....Badge? I'm wondering what it would be like if other episodes had titles that give me no idea of what the episode could be about. How about "Mr. Monk and the Rubber Band?"

And I'm sorry that I never seem to have anything worthwhile to say about the important parts of your entries.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who had trouble with that! I also struggled a bit with the secret Cheese Bridge Area and Valley of Bowser 2 exits for awhile (until I was 12 or so) because, for the longest time, I'd just assumed those wings you jump into with Yoshi to get that secret sky area thing were the secret exits.

That reminds me my initial thought upon hearing about the novel "Mr. Monk is Miserable". Um, like....isn't he pretty much always miserable? That's like naming it "Mr. Monk is Obsessive-Compulsive"! Then I learned the book was about Monk in France and I thought, "Oh, it's a pun". Then it occurred to me that, no, "miserable" is Spanish, not French. So I'm back to thinking it's a lousy title.

I would count it as a pun since adding an accent to the e (misérable) makes it a French word. I guess it might be a reference to Les Misérables but only in the sense that people know of the word because of the show.

Does the ending of the television series mean that the novels will end too?

I also considered that, but the fact that the e is unaccented in the title means it's still a weird, vague title that gives you no idea what it's about unless, y'know...you already know what it's about.

Surely they'll end eventually! But, checking Wikipedia, there's a novel set to be released next month ("Mr. Monk in Trouble", which also strikes me as an incredibly vague title), and another whose release date is yet to be determined ("Mr. Monk is Cleaned Out").
