After a little while in relatively sane health, I'm back into a state of major Kristen anxiety. Just....this homophobic, racist, emotionally abusive, EVIL greasy crude anatomical reference of a woman is still shrewdly manipulating people into believing she's....human. And it *still* bugs me. It really, really, really bugs me. By this point, I ( Read more... )

I'm with you on the NBC boycott. It's not like I ever watch more than five or ten minutes of not-Conan at a time on any NBC-related channel anyway. I doubt I can maintain a full-on boycott, but I doubt I'll watch more than five, ten minutes of them at a time, anyway.

As for IdiotChat... I do think it will do you some good to at least take some time off from it. I'm kind of interested in Amanda's opinion here though.

As far as NBC goes, I just don't watch hardly any tv to begin with and usually stick to pbs.

And my opinion on chat is that if you dread going, don't go. If you don't enjoy the formatted atmosphere, don't use it. If you simply enjoy the company of the regulars that show up week after week, there's no reason a game HAS to be enforced. My favorite part is before and after when we're all just talking about whatever. The fact is, taking time off from the internet never hurt anyone. Just don't hang out with your mom's BF as an alternative.

My pointless boycott is apparently Walmart. I haven't been there in months and I hope to never go there again, but they are so big that me not going doesn't make a difference. And worse, when I tell people I never shop there, they scoff and say that my not going there doesn't make a difference. And that's just missing the entire point. I'm telling you why I don't go there in an effort to convince you to join me. You know what I'm saying? Ugh. stupid walmart.

I agree with Jim. I don't think you should completely give it up, but take a break. You clear your head, you get perspective, and when you're ready, you come back.

By NBC, do you mean just the terrestial network or the entire family? I mean, how are you going to learn Spanish without the telenovelas in Telemundo? How are you going to distract your mother with that Oxygen channel while you go look at porn in the Internet? How are you ever going to be a good homosexual if you don't watch Bravo? And does NBC still have The Office? And do Seinfeld reruns count?

Why don't we guess where Conan is going? Maybe he'll replace Jimmy Kimmel on ABC. Or maybe Fox will experiment with Late Night. Or he might pull a Letterman and become part of CBS... Imagine: The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Conan O'Brien, and the Really Late Show with Craig Ferguson. That's a trifecta worth watching!

I think he's not going to become a movie star, though. He's just too funny looking.

And Jess, Kristen is totally human! Only apes are dumb enough to hate homosexuals!

Conan is probably going to head to FOX. ABC and CBS aren't interested, last I heard. And I doubt Conan would really want to venture into cable.

The Office really hasn't been particularly brilliant since season two. And it's easier to look at porn if I just wait for her to go to bed. Then I have all night to beat my, erm....high scores at Punch-Out.

So, wait a second. Your hypothetical situation has Craig being shoved back an hour without his consent? Hasn't the whole Conan vs. NBC ordeal taught you ANYTHING??? Silly kitty.

For the record, I've got my money on a move to FOX. Not only because the other two networks aren't interested, but also because right now FOX is stuck with some presumably wretched Wanda Sykes abomination. And who wouldn't want to do better than that?

Kristen most certainly is not human. Or animalian, obviously. She's, like....one of those kinds of fungi that infect poor, defenseless insects, completely taking over their bodies until they're just a pathetic, mushroom-riddled caricature of their former selves.

Hmmm... you sure she isn't protozoan? I like mushrooms.

Well, then we can send Craig back to Skirt-Weaing Fairy Land where he belongs! Mwa ha ha!

Man, I'm looking forward to Rupert Murdoch's cavalcade of comedy. Think about it. He's got Matt Groening and Seth MacFarlane and Glenn Beck and now Conan O'Brien!

Of course, Conan may have to go to FX while Fox clears the red tape with its affiliates.

You like MOST mushrooms. Just like you like MOST women. But Kristen is the worst of both. Is this conversation even still making sense? I don't think so.

It all makes sense until somebody says something along the lines of "telephone noodle ashtray."

Just don't start fantasizing about Conan Dan-Patterson style, okay?

Have you seen the comments about him on AOL. I had no idea there were so many Conan haters out there.
