i think its a metaphor for how women are really the ones in control of situations. here using the man as the actual weapon, but though he is the thing that will kill or do the action, it is the woman that will pull the trigger and ultimately decide when this "thing" will happen.

it portrays women's hidden assertion over every situation in history.

well, at least, thats what i get from it.

afterthought: the choice by the artist to face the women's legs in the opposite direction of her "head" or "hand" i think supports my opinion.
