Also, my dad wants to buy the student membership for me for Christmas, but I have a few questions-- is it yearly or a lifetime membership? I can't seem to find anything on it.

it's yearly, and it gives you the chance to apply for a wwdc ticket. that and the crazy developer discount (one time only as a student member ever, unless you get other non-student paid adc memberships that come with additional discounts) are pretty much the only reasons to get it. Otherwise it's a waste of money.

I'll have to think about it, also, is there a date released for the WWDC? if it falls in April I might be able to go :P Otherwise... no.
