It's been three weeks since my arrival in Australia and I haven't had a spare moment to write a word.

Leaving home felt strange to me this time in a way that it hasn't before. There is always this last-minute flurry of activity that immediately precedes any trip of indeterminate length- people to see one last time, financial affairs to wrap up,
