Roommates should also expire. Jamie and I are going to have a conversation with Raffi tonight that will most likely end in him moving out at the end of the month. Or sooner! Here's hoping!

So, I just returned from taking a little stray kitty in my neighborhood to the animal shelter. I hated to do it, but the cat kept coming into our house and fighting with Louie and Ella (Jamie's cats), and eating their food. The neighbors said they thought it was a stray, so I took her away. I got a package yesterday from Chaya in New York with a lovely vase in it. How fun! It's not a functional vase, it's a single piece of thin metal sheet with an elaborate cut-out pattern that's folded together like a puzzle. I love that it arrived flat and now has depth ( Read more... )

So, issue two of the Oakbook, which I edited in it's original form, was recently launched, and the publishers are apparently so petty that they rewrote my blurbs for the restaurant and shopping guides just to get my name out of the magazine. What bullshit.
