If it is at all reassuring, the same thing happened to me when I was out of work at this time last year. I think I only went to one in person interview (current job) that wasn't with a recruiter, and even the recruiters didn't turn up any interviews for me. It's rough out there for everyone, took three months for me. I hope your unemployment turns out ok. I always consoled myself that companies wouldn't hire around the holidays because their minds and budgets were elsewhere. It wasn't that I sucked or anything personal. Once Miah is off for the winter, maybe you guys can get together to do some dad/son things during the day to take a break. I'm sure he'd like the company. Though I hope you can find something great before then!
Yep, the UI kicked in last week and it looks like we can keep our heads above water, so that's incredibly good. Now I kinda hope nothing fabulous falls into my lap until January, since Adriana will have two weeks off at the end of the semester next month and it would be awesome to just hang out at home. =Slacker.
It would be really cool to hang with the Miah and Alex!
You can also register and they will send new openings to you when new jobs come along. It's definitely part of the ol' military industrial compex, but as a workplace, it's pretty awesome.
