They're everywhere. Long ones, bushy ones, scraggly ones, short-cropped & barely-there ones. I'm not talking about the carefully crafted edgy-pointy Spanish goatee, no. Prior to my most recent foray into beardie world, I really couldn't stand letting it go more than a week. The scratchyness and the need to shampoo my face was a very uncomfortable experience. The upside was the crafting of the beard. Looking like steam-punk mad scientist was fun for a moment though.

The scratchiness can be unbearable at times.
It's funny - as the beard gets thicker my desire to straigten, or style my hair at all has diminished. My hair is thick and healthy and getting quite long as a result. I know when I finally do start to shave it I'll experiment with leaving bits. I'm thinking mad Wolverine chops right now.
