Wow.

Just wow.

I think it is so great that you had the chance to talk to this guy and find a kindred spirit. I admit, I've always admired your passion for philosophy, but at times I'm intimidated by you too because I've never been able to get my brain to work that way. I wish I could have discussions, not just with you, but with a other people that I know that love it, and I just can't. It's odd that you thought there was something different about you, because I've always thought there was something different--wrong even-- about me because I didn't and couldn't get it no matter how hard I tried. I'm really glad you are sticking with it because you are a brilliant woman who is clearly very good at what you love.

As for this journal... I hope you will come back from time to time. You're an amazing individual and I would miss you.

I'm so happy for you. :o)

heh, I bet you never would have guessed that same the girl who, curled up in a drunken ball in the corner of the student lounge, told a cop she was 85 years old then a couple weeks later ended up leaving New England College a blood-soaked, weeping mess, had this side to her ;)

Awesome. (I'm jealous too; i haven't had a conversation like that in a really really long time ;D)

Unfortunately its rare to find and make these connections, somebody else who is just as crazy/passionate about something as you are. But then that's the price ya pay for caring about something other than the same superficial crap that everyone else settles for. :D But the scarcity also makes it all the more special.

Like he said, it's very lonely and will drive you crazy, but it's incredibly rewarding.

That is quite a serendipitous experience you had.You could write a whole essay about that day.sure there may not be that many opportunities in the field of philosophy but it will help you for critical thinking and reasoning and that can be applied to so many other areas.think of it as a sign that you are taking something you enjoy and you should stay on the road.Who knew you would get into such a deep discussion at your local garage :)
