Paris!

Ah, Paris! I'm here--it's 5:30 AM here because I went to sleep super-early last night, like 9. I'm proud of myself that I lasted that long--usually, I need to sleep for 24 hours or something to get adjusted. You should go to Europe...like as a graduation present to yourself (and Adam) or something. If you don't go before you have kids, you probably won't, or you will but it won't be the same and it will certainly be more difficult (and expensive).

That's what I told Adam - before kids I want to go to Europe. Maybe Italy or Greece. I can only speak spanish, so I think I could pick up Italian, and get around in Spain lol

You don't need Italian in Italy. At all. You do need some Spanish in parts of Spain--most people don't speak English in Madrid or the rest of the interior--although you don't need it much in the south or Barcelona. Some basic knowledge of the native language is helpful anywhere--like hello, please, thank you, excuse me, still water (a lot of the bottled water in Europe is fizzy and if you don't like that, it's important to know)--but beyond that, you can almost always find an English-speaker to help you out otherwise and sign language is very effective. I've never been to Greece but I think it's probably similar.
I really think everyone should travel internationally and see how different some things are--and how much they are the same, too. It's a really great experience...and who knows, you might get addicted, like me.

So jealous! I loved the Lourve, and I really want to go back to Paris to walk up Notre Dame and see the gargoyles and see the opera house! So jealous. Someday I will have the money to go back to Europe. Someday.
