Aw, that was really sweet.

I do believe that if TPTB decide to give us these ladies as a couple, that Maura would be the first one to sort out her feelings. Even though she seems to be not so good with the emotional stuff. She'd probably be less wound up about being with a woman. Like you said, she probably wouldn't restrict herself to either gender. Practical Maura is practical!
