I am fond of Lewis, and I think a fleshed-out adult version of his created world would be an absolutely jaw-dropping book. He was a brilliant writer and a master of the language, but there's so many little details I'd love to know more about, like you say.

My only problem with the movie adaptations is that the older children lose a sense of nobility that they maintained in the novels, especially towards their tail end. I didn't feel any great remorse for Peter absconding the throne. Then again, it has been years since I've read the novels and that might just be a bit of nostalgia contaminating my thoughts.

I agree with your thoughts on nobility. The fact that the new films start out with Peter getting into fisticuffs over someone calling him a 'kid', particularly when film-Peter's espoused reason for the fight is that he cannot stand being called a kid when he isn't really, is absolutely silly. No adult would throw punches at children who called that adult names. Not unless that adult was an abuser, sociopath, or the like. And none of those sound like atributes Lewis would have given to Kings or Queens of Narnia.
