So, since the last time I counted, I've added 2,835 words to my world design document, bringing it to 33% done. That percentage is based upon a rough word count estimate I'd made at the beginning of writing. However, the number of categories with substantial entries: 11. How about mushrooms? Don't they grow in caves? Couldn't you have the society rely on things like mushrooms, fungi and mosses that grow in caves. Also, how about domesticated cave animals for food? Some kind of crabs, insects or salamanders? Just some random thoughts.

Thanks for the ideas! Mushrooms, although perhaps not all fungus (I'll double check, because it's a good thought), actually require more caloric output to chew and digest than they contain (like celery) ... great for weight loss, not so great as a staple food source. I'm fairly sure there are creepy, eyeless fish that are good for food. At least some of the other animals naturally occurring in this particular caves system are most likely to be symbiotic pets ... but I'll have to ask around among the characters to discover if there are other, more edible critters running around.
