Yixing pushed his lower lip out in a pout as he stared at his cereal bowl and inertly stirred around the contents with his spoon. He sighed for what seemed like hundredth time ever since he had woken up today.
“Are you uhm,” Kyungsoo raised an eyebrow and pointed to Yixing’s cereal bowl, “going to eat that? ‘Cause if not-ouch!”
He was cut off with a kick on his shin, coming from no other than Kim Junmyeon who glared at him. Kyungsoo pouted and rubbed his painful shin as Junmyeon turned to Yixing with soft eyes and a gentle smile. “Yixing, you should eat,” He said in that motherly tone he always had. “You already skipped dinner last night, stop starving yourself.”
Yixing sighed again and pushed the cereal bowl to Kyungsoo. “I’m not hungry..” He muttered.
Kyungsoo’s eyes brightened up. He reached for the bowl but was stopped when Junmyeon slapped his hand. “Let him eat his food,” Junmyeon said through his teeth.
The doorbell rang just before Kyungsoo opened his mouth to argue.
Junmyeon put his spoon down and stood up, glaring at Kyungsoo one last time before turning around to open the door.
“Oh, hey,” Junmyeon greeted as he stepped aside to let Yifan-who answered him with an almost inaudible “hi”-enter.
Yixing looked up and in an instant, smiled so brightly that his eyes formed crescent shapes and his dimples came out. “You’re here.”
Yifan smiled back and nodded. “Sorry,” He said as he removed his shoes. “I got too drunk and decided to just sleep over with a friend.”
Yixing got up and threw his arms around the taller one. “It’s okay,” He mumbled into Yifan’s chest. “At least you came home safe.” Yifan wrapped his arms around Yixing too, and let out a soft chuckle.
“Why, did you miss me?” He asked, although he already knew the answer-of course Yixing had missed him.
Yixing buried his face into Yifan’s chest and nodded, hugging him tighter. As Yixing inhaled, his lips formed a small smile. Oh how much he had missed this scent. The smell of-Yixing pulled his head back and stared at Yifan.
“You smell different,” He remarked, blinking twice before moving his face towards Yifan’s chest again. He sniffed, and his eyebrows furrowed. “Did you change your perfume or..?”
Yifan kept quiet for a few seconds before smiling again. “Silly,” He ruffled Yixing’s hair and planted a kiss on his forehead. “Of course I would smell different. I slept with a friend.”
Yixing’s hand dropped to his sides. “Did you sleep beside each other?” Yixing wasn’t always the jealous type, but the way Yifan smelled right now-it was different. Normally, when Yifan comes home after drinking, he would smell like alcohol of course, and some other stuff, but the smell of his perfume would still be there, and Yixing can recognize that smell all too well.
This, however, smelled like a perfume of some other person. It’s too strong-too strong that Yixing can’t even smell Yifan’s own perfume.
“No,” Yifan answered before turning to head towards their bedroom. “We did not sleep beside each other.”
Yixing stood there, confused. He turned his head towards Junmyeon who was already watching television and Kyungsoo who was still sitting around the dining table.
Kyungsoo raised an eyebrow. “So, is it going to be Yifan hyung or the cereal bowl?”
--------------------
The following days, Yifan rarely came home anymore and Junmyeon had to force Yixing into eating.
“When will he come home?” Yixing groaned as he plopped himself beside Junmyeon. “He’s not even answering any of my calls.”
Junmyeon sighed. “You know,” He said and turned off the television. “I kind of have a bad feeling..”
Yixing raised an eyebrow. “About what?”
“About Yifan hyung.”
“What about him?”
Junmyeon bit his lip. “I don’t know,” He looked down. “I just have a bad feeling. I mean, he rarely comes home, and when he does, he’s always on the phone with someone. Does he even take you out on a date anymore?”
Yixing grabbed the remote control. “No,” He answered turned the television on. “It doesn’t really matter.”
“What I’m saying is-“
The doorbell rang and Yixing immediately stood up from the couch to get the door. Junmyeon shook his head and stood up, turning the television off before walking towards their bedroom.
--------------------
Junmyeon quietly observed how things started to change between Yixing and Yifan-or just Yifan, for that matter, since Yixing never really changed. He just patiently waited to Yifan to come home like he usually did, sometimes even cooking some of Yifan’s favorite Chinese dishes.
Yifan never got to eat any of them, however. Either he doesn’t come home and the food just spoils; or he does come home, but claims that he’s too tired and would just go to sleep.
--------------------
“No,” Kyungsoo repeated. “You are not going to talk to Yixing hyung about this.”
Junmyeon sat up from their bed and grabbed a pillow. “But Yixing’s going to get hurt,” he justified. “It’s not fair. I can’t believe he isn’t noticing any of Yifan hyung’s actions.”
Kyungsoo sighed, but still did not tear his gaze away from his laptop’s screen. “I know you’re concerned, I am too. But we have no proof. We can’t just accuse Yifan hyung of cheating because he comes home late-“
“Correction, he almost never comes home.” Junmyeon retorted.
“Whatever,” Kyungsoo rolled his eyes. “And because he’s not being all lovey-dovey with Yixing hyung.”
“But-“
“No.”
Junmyeon stood up from the bed and headed towards the door anyway.
--------------------
“Yixing,” Junmyeon stood awkwardly behind him, his hands stuffed inside his pockets. He decided that this was the best time to open the topic of his apprehension about Yixing and Yifan’s problem.
Yixing stopped playing his guitar and looked up, humming slightly before smiling.
“Uh..” Junmyeon scratched the back of his head nervously, because to be quite honest, the look on Yixing’s face right now made it impossible for him to say things that might break Yixing’s heart. “W-what are you playing?”
Yixing looked down on his guitar and back to Junmyeon. “Yifan’s favorite song,”
Junmyeon bit the insides of his cheeks. He can’t do this. He can’t do this to Yixing. He might as well just go outside and hunt Yifan down, have someone beat Yifan or something. He can’t hurt Yixing.
“Is there a problem?” Yixing asked, seeing the worried expression on Junmyeon’s face.
Junmyeon took a deep breath. “I-I think Yifan hyung’s ch-cheating on you,” He blurted out.
Yixing stared at him for a few seconds, not saying anything. His pressed his lips together and sighed before putting the guitar away gently and standing up.
“I know.”
Junmyeon’s eye widened. “W-what?”
“I know,” Yixing repeated, avoiding eye contact.
“Then w-why-“
“Let’s go grocery shopping,” Yixing smiled, as if not hearing Junmyeon. “We’re almost out of food stock and toiletries. Plus I think I should cook for Yifan tonight.”
“But-“
“I’ll go get dressed first,” Yixing walked towards their bedroom, leaving Junmyeon standing there, dumbfounded.
--------------------
“Yixing-“
“Which toothpaste is better?” Yixing asked, picking up two different brands and raising it in front of Junmyeon’s face. “Personally, I don’t like the red one. It’s too.. I don’t know. It hurts my lips.”
Junmyeon picked the other toothpaste. “Then we can get this one,” He threw it in the cart and Yixing pushed it, looking around for things they still need.
Yixing started picking up lots of other stuff, and Junmyeon just can’t find the will and timing to interrupt him. When they were at the breakfast station, Yixing standed and pondered on what to pick.
“Yixing-“
Yixing picked up a huge box of cereal and lifted it up. “This is Kyungsoo’s favorite right?” Junmyeon nodded and opened his mouth but Yixing turned his back and started pushing the cart again, picking several other boxes of cereal and cartons of milk.
Junmyeon sighed and held Yixing’s wrist, making Yixing stop and look at him. “Why?”
“We need to talk,” Junmyeon said, staring at Yixing with a serious expression.
Yixing smiled. “We can talk while we shop, right?”
“No,” Junmyeon shook his head. “You’re not listening to me. I need you to listen to me.” He let go of Yixing’s wrist and straightened up.
“Okay then,” Yixing nodded and started pushing the cart again. “What do we-“ He stopped talking, and stopped pushing the cart. Junmyeon raised an eyebrow and followed Yixing’s gaze only to find Yifan and some other guy, walking towards them.
Junmyeon stood frozen, seeing how Yifan was holding this person’s hand as they strolled with a basket on the guy’s hand. He then stared at Yixing, and reached out to grab Yixing and pull him away from this grocery store this instant.
But then Yixing ran towards Yifan and the person, leaving the pushcart behind. “Yifan!” Yixing shouted.
It wasn’t the type of shouting an angry person does though.
It was more of like how a kid shouts when he sees his mother come home from work, or basically, how Yixing always shouts when Yifan comes home.
Yifan let go of the person’s hand and stared at Yixing wide a surprised expression. Junmyeon followed Yixing and glared at Yifan once he stood beside Yixing-but Yifan didn’t notice-or care.
“H-hey,” Yifan blurted out. “W-what are you doing here?”
“Grocery shopping, obviously,” Junmyeon mumbled under his breath before looking at the guy Yifan was holding hands with earlier.
Which reminded him, he was pretty sure Yixing saw how Yifan and this tall person held hands awhile ago, how could Yixing just casually run here like he didn’t see anything?
“We were running out of supplies so Junmyeon and I decided to go grocery shopping. By the way, I’m cooking dinner later, you’re going home..right?” Yixing asked, hoping that Yifan will come home.
“S-sure,” Yifan nodded.
Yixing smiled widely, and slowly turned his head to stare at the person beside Kris. “Oh, this friend is..?”
“Chanyeol,” Chanyeol extended his arm, smiling slightly. “Park Chanyeol.”
Yixing shook his hand and Yifan shifted his weight uncomfortably. Yixing took a deep breath before letting go and stared at Yifan again.
However, he inhaled something familiar.
He inhaled the same, strong scent he inhaled from Yifan’s chest before. Yixing glanced at Chanyeol for a few seconds before turning back to Yifan. “Junmyeon and I will be going first, then,” He smiled and turned to Chanyeol. “It was really nice meeting you.. Chanyeol.”
Junmyeon’s jaw dropped.
“A-are you kidding-“ Yixing grabbed his arm and pulled him back to where they left the cart.
Yifan didn’t come home that day.
Or the days followed.
--------------------
Junmyeon didn’t have the opportunity to talk to Yixing anymore, as the latter was always locked up in his room. Kyungsoo tried knocking several times, but Yixing never answered. The both of them were starting to think that maybe something bad had happened to Yixing, and they were getting ready to burst the door open when the doorknob clicked and twisted.
Junmyeon and Kyungsoo panicked and moved as far as they could before the door opened-revealing Yixing who was pale and had dark circle under his eyes.
“Yixing!” The older gasped and stumbled towards him, cupping his face with both hands. Junmyeon stared at Yixing with wide eyes. “W-what happened to you?”
Yixing looked up and stared back at Junmyeon. He smiled and with a soft voice, he answered. “I’m fine.”
Junmyeon’s mouth slightly hung open and felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Yixing’s eyes were dark-dead. The way he stared at Junmyeon right now, it was like his spirit wasn’t his body. His eyes weren’t as bright and lively as they used to be; and his voice, lifeless and soft, so very different from the voice that was once music to everyone’s ears.
“I’m going out for a while,” Yixing walked away, wearing nothing but a hoodie and his favorite pair of jeans.
Junmyeon shook his head. “B-but Yixing-“
Kyungsoo grabbed his hand and stared at him. “Let him do what he wants..” He whispered and pulled Junmyeon into a hug, patting his back soothingly.
--------------------
Yixing didn’t really know where his feet were taking him, but frankly, he doesn’t care. He just wanted to think about things, about himself, and about Yifan.
He sighed and decided to rest on the nearest bench he had spotted. He looked at the sky, slightly blinded, but he continued to stare nonetheless. He liked the sky-it was the only thing that connected him and Yifan.
“If there are times when we’re apart and you start to miss me,” Yifan looked up, “Just look at the sky.”
Yixing furrowed his eyebrows. “The sky?” He asked, confused. “Why the sky?”
Yifan looked at him for a few seconds before smiling. Yixing felt his cheeks burning. He had always loved Yifan’s smile. Especially when he’s smiling so widely that his eyes start to disappear already. And lying down on the grass made everything even more perfect.
“Because,” Yifan grabbed Yixing’s hand and intertwined their fingers before looking up the sky again. “No matter how far we are from each other, we will always be under the same sky.”
Yixing turned his head and looked at the sky. “Always?”
“Always.”
Yixing snapped out of reminiscing when he heard a very familiar laughter coming from behind him. He turned his head and saw Yifan walking with Chanyeol. Yixing’s heart fluttered upon seeing Yifan, smiling-laughing even, but then it shattered into a million pieces because well, he wasn’t the reason of Yifan’s happiness. Not anymore.
Someone sat beside Yixing and covered his face with a jacket, peering into the same direction as Yixing. He noticed that Yixing was staring at him so he rolled his eyes. “Hey, it’s rude to stare you know,” He continued to watch Chanyeol and Yifan.
Yixing bit his lip. “I’m sorry but w-who are you staring at?”
“None of your business.”
Yixing almost snapped because he wasn’t really in a good mood, and some rude stranger just pops out of nowhere, but he took a deep breath and asked again. “You’re kind of staring at someone I know, so-“
“You know Chanyeol?” The rude stranger asked, raising an eyebrow.
“No,” Yixing answered. “I don’t really know who that bastard is but-“
“Hey, hey, hey,” The guy faced Yixing completely this time. “Don’t call Chanyeol a bastard.”
Yixing snorted. “But he is a bastard. A bastard who goes around stealing some other person’s boyfriend-“
“Boyfriend?” Rude stranger asked.
Yixing opened his mouth but closed it again. What exactly is his relationship with Yifan right now? He doesn’t even know. There isn’t really a closure, but the way he’s seeing it, it’s almost like they’ve already broken up with one another.
Or well, almost like Yifan had broken up with him.
“Hello?” The stranger waved his hand infront of Yixing’s face. “Did you just call Angry Bird there,” He said, pointing Yifan with his lips, “your boyfriend?”
“Y-yeah,” Yixing muttered. “Or something like that.”
“You mean, you’re still together?”
Yixing glared at him. Who on earth is this stranger and why is he calling Yifan ‘Angry Bird’ and even sticking his nose into other people’s business? “Why do you care?”
“Because,” Rude stranger explained and removed his cap, running his fingers through his damp hair. Yixing noticed how pretty-yes, pretty-rude stranger is. “Apparently, the person you’re calling ‘bastard’ ditched me for your boyfriend.”
Yixing’s eyes widened. “E-excuse me?”
“Byun Baekhyun,” Rude stranger-Baekhyun extended his arm. “The person Park Chanyeol ditched for.. Uhm, what’s your boyfriend’s name again?”
Yixing stared at Baekhyun’s hand, contemplating on whether or not he should shake hands with him. He decided to go with the first option anyway. “Yifan,” he answered Baekhyun’s question before introducing himself. “and I’m Yixing. Zhang Yixing.”
Baekhyun smiled and let go of his hand. “How interesting,” Baekhyun chuckled. “Don’t you think it’s funny how I met you?”
“I-I don’t know,” Yixing shrugged and turned to look at Yifan again. Will he ditch me for Chanyeol too?
“Say,” Baekhyun cleared his throat and Yixing looked at him, raising an eyebrow. “You said he was your boyfriend? He didn’t break up with you? Meaning-“
Baekhyun was cut off with the loud grumbling of Yixing’s stomach. Yixing clutched it, his face suddenly turning ten shades darker.
Baekhyun laughed out loud. “Let me guess, you starved yourself out of depression?”
Yixing gaped at him. Is he some kind of psychic person? “H-how-“
“Been there, done that,” Baekhyun shook his head. “You know what? Let’s get you something to eat first. I want to know more about this Yifan guy.”
Yixing pondered for a while. Eating out with a stranger? Not a good idea. “I-I’m not that hungry,” His stomach grumbled louder this time and Yixing frowned, biting his lip.
“Your stomach, however,” Baekhyun stood up and grabbed Yixing’s hand, “is saying otherwise.” He pulled Yixing up and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. “Let’s go.”
Yixing wasn’t able to argue anymore because 1) Baekhyun was already dragging him and 2) He had no energy anymore. He was too hungry.
--------------------
“Oh,” Baekhyun looked at the digital clock and stood up. “I-I have to go. I have to go to work tomorrow.”
Junmyeon and Kyungsoo stood up. “It was really nice meeting you, Baekhyun,” Junmyeon smiled. “Thank you for taking care of Yixing.”
Yixing pouted. Was he some kind of a kid to be taken care of?
Baekhyun chuckled and wore his jacket. “I think it was destiny that made us meet one another,” He said, turning to Yixing. “Hey, remember what I told you awhile ago,” He patted Yixing’s shoulder and smiled. “You’re only hurting yourself more and more. Go out and have fun, take care of yourself. Enjoy life.” He sighed and wore his cap. “Don’t be a pathetic ex-boyfriend-turned-stalker like me.”
Junmyeon laughed. “I should send you off.” He walked to the door.
Baekhyun nodded and waved goodbye to Kyungsoo who was still too busy eating. Kyungsoo nodded and smiled in acknowledgment though.
“Wait,” Yixing called out just as Baekhyun turned around. He reluctantly walked towards the younger boy and hugged him, surprising not only Baekhyun, but Kyungsoo and Junmyeon as well (a piece of kimbap even fell from Kyungsoo’s mouth as he stared at Yixing and Baekhyun with wide eyes). “T-thank you.”
Baekhyun smiled at nodded.
Someone cleared his throat, and Yixing pulled away. “Y-yifan!” He shouted, ecstatic to see Yifan. Junmyeon was surprised. How and when did he even get here? But Junmyeon remembered that he had already opened the door awhile ago, and forgot to close it when Yixing hugged Baekhyun.
Junmyeon and Baekhyun glared at Yifan-who was staring at Yixing and Baekhyun. Kyungsoo however, sat there with the same expression on his face.
--------------------
“I’m asking you who that person is!”
Yixing flinched, but didn’t say anything. He only stood in front of Yifan, fiddling with his fingers as his head hung low. “I-I’m sorry-“
“You’re not answering my question,” Yifan growled.
He looked over Yixing’s shoulder and saw Kyungsoo who was gaping at the both of them. Yifan sighed and grabbed Yixing’s wrist. He started to pull the younger one but was stopped when someone held onto Yixing’s arm too.
“Don’t touch him,” Junmyeon hissed.
“Move,” Yifan growled. “While I’m still asking nicely.”
“No,” Junmyeon has had enough of this. He was always keeping quiet, silently observing from a distance, but now, now that he had seen Yixing smile again, he’s not going to let Yifan ruin everything. He stood his ground. “Where were you when Yixing patiently waited for you to come home? Where were you when he spent hours and hours cooking and preparing food for you-which you never ate? Where were you when he locked himself your room for three days? Where were you when he was almost dying of starvation? Where were you when he was miserable and depressed? You were out there; too busy cheating on him to actually remember you had someone here, faithfully and patiently waiting for you!”
“I said move!” Yifan shouted, his voice booming across the room. Kyungsoo stood up to protect Junmyeon, but Yixing spoke up.
“I-it’s okay..” Yixing used his free hand to squeeze Junmyeon’s shoulder. “I’m fine. Just move, I don’t want you to get involved in this.”
Junmyeon shook his head. “No, I’m not-“
“I’m going to be fine,” Yixing smiled. “And so are you. We’re all going to be fine.”
Junmyeon slowly started to release his grip on Yixing’s arm. “Yixing..” He whispered. Yifan pulled Yixing into the bedroom, slamming the door shut.
--------------------
“HYUNG OPEN THE DOOR!” Kyungsoo shouted, banging his fist against the wall. “OPEN THE DOOR NOW!”
Junmyeon stood behind Kyungsoo, his heart pounding everytime he would hear Yifan shout. What’s scaring him wasn’t Yifan’s shouting though, it was actually Yixing’s silence.
“I’m sorry!” Yixing sobbed, and Junmyeon flinched when he heard the sound of glass shattering.
It kept on going for hours, Yifan kept on shouting, and probably throwing things around. What Junmyeon hoped for was that he didn’t hurt Yixing. All they could hear from him was “I’m sorry” and “It’s all my fault.”
Junmyeon clenched his fists. “WU YIFAN OPEN THE DAMN DOOR THIS INSTANT!!” He shouted, kicking the door strong enough for it to open.
Yifan turned around, Yixing’s wrist wrapped tightly with his fingers. Junmyeon looked at Yixing who had tears running down his face. He shoved Kyungsoo aside and ran towards Yixing, clutching his shoulders to support him. “WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Junmyeon shouted to Yifan who just rolled his eyes and let go of Yixing’s wrist before storming out the room.
Junmyeon hugged Yixing who started to cry out loud. “I’m sorry,” Junmyeon whispered. “I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything to protect you.” Kyungsoo comforted Junmyeon by patting his back as the latter continue to whisper “I’m sorry,” like a mantra.
--------------------
Yixing woke up suddenly, groaning as soon as he felt like his head was being split into two. He reached for his phone to check the time, squinting so that his eyes won’t hurt that much because of the light coming from the phone.
“3:14,” Yixing whispered and put down his phone, slowly getting off the bed to wash his face. He staggered his way outside the bedroom, and ran to the kitchen sink instead of the bathroom sink to wash his face.
He noticed a bruise slowly staring to form on his wrist, and he examined it carefully. He sighed and let cold water run through it as he leaned towards the sink for support. His throat felt fry, his whole body felt dry to be quite honest. He felt dehydrated, probably from all the crying that had happened awhile ago.
Turning off the sink, Yixing walked to the bathroom to get medicine to relieve his headache. Just as he was about to enter, though, the doorbell rang.
Yixing raised an eyebrow. Who could be visiting at this time? He put the medicine on the counter before walking towards the door. The doorbell rang and rang again, so Yixing opened the door, slightly irritated.
But all the irritation went away when he saw Yifan standing in front of him.
Yixing took a step back, and Yifan stumbled forward, but still managed to close the door behind him. He wasn’t even able to speak because just as he opened his mouth, Yifan grabbed Yixing’s bruised wrist-causing the latter one to yelp slightly-and fiercely crashed his lips onto the him.
Yixing tried to move his head away, but Yifan let go of his wrist and held his head firmly, preventing Yixing from moving in any possible way.
“You’re drunk,” Yixing said through the kiss, still trying to push Yifan away, but to no avail. He could tell Yifan was drunk-he could smell it, and he could taste it-the distinctive taste of alcohol.
Yifan didn’t answer. He continued kissing Yixing, biting Yixing’s lower lip and sucking on it harshly so that it started to bleed. “Yifan, s-stop,” Yixing gasped when Yifan pulled away for a short moment.
He could feel his lower lip stinging, and when Yifan started kissing him again, their teeth banged against each other and he could already taste his own blood.
“Mine,” Yifan mumbled into the kiss and Yixing whimpered. Yifan didn’t care if their noses would collide, he didn’t care when Yixing’s back hit the wall, he didn’t care when Yixing started to gasp for air, he didn’t care about anything.
“S-stop,” Yixing looked down, running his tongue through his bleeding lip. “Stop.”
Yifan cupped his face and looked at him with weary eyes. “Mine,” He whispered again, bringing their faces closer so that their foreheads touched.
Yixing stared at him for a few seconds and sighed before nodding weakly. “Yours,” He answered, pecking Yifan’s lips as lightly as he could, but still wincing when he felt the sting on his lips. “Always.”
He held Yifan’s hand and led him to their bedroom. “Now let’s change your clothes so you could sleep.”
--------------------
Yixing sighed as he closed the door lightly. He touched his lower lip, groaning because the pain is still there. He walked towards the refrigerator to get a pitcher and walked towards the counter to drink his medicine-now it has two purposes, he thought.
“Yixing?” Yixing jumped and turned around, seeing Junmyeon standing behind him.
“Hey,” He smiled. “Why are you still up?”
“I heard noises. Are you okay?” He looked at Yixing’s hand, seeing the medicine he was holding, “Why, do you have a headache?” Junmyeon walked closer to touch Yixing’s forehead and check if he has a fever but gasped when he saw Yixing’s swollen and bleeding lip. “Yixing, y-your-“
“Shh,” Yixing silenced Junmyeon and smiled again. “I’m fine.”
“Come here,” Junmyeon dragged Yixing to the dining table and pushed him down to make him sit before running towards his shared bedroom with Kyungsoo. He came out a few minutes after and opened the refrigerator.
Yixing decided to take his medicine first while waiting for Junmyeon and whatever it was he was doing.
Junmyeon ran towards Yixing and pulled a chair so that he was sitting in front of him, before wrapping ice cubes with the handkerchief. “Here,” He said and brought it up to Yixing’s lips, dabbing the it slightly.
“A-ah,” Yixing winced in pain.
“Sorry,” Junmyeon apologized and pressed the self-made icepack gentler onto Yixing’s lips. “What happened?”
“N-nothing,” Yixing answered.
Junmyeon raised an eyebrow. “You seriously expect me to believe that?”
Yixing sighed in defeat. “Y-Yifan came home awhile ago and h-he was drunk-“
“Did he hurt you again?” Junmyeon stood up, clenching his fists, ready to charge into Yifan and Yixing’s shared bedroom.
“No, no,” Yixing answered, pulling Junmyeon back into his seat. “I’m fine.”
Junmyeon sighed. “Why are you doing this? Look at yourself, you have a busted lip, a bruised wrist, what’s next?”
“I’m okay,” Yixing smiled.
“No, you’re not,” Junmyeon snapped. “Why are you doing this to yourself? Why don’t you just leave him already? There are lots of other people out there-“
“But they're not Yifan,” Yixing answered calmly. “I-I know this sounds crazy but.. I’ve known for quite a while already that he had been cheating on me.”
“Why didn’t you do anything, then?”
“Because it didn’t matter,” Yixing explained. “I-I thought that everything was okay because in the end, he still came home. Here. To me.”
Junmyeon sighed. “Yixing-“
“I’m willing to endure anything and everything for him,” Yixing said and looked down.
“..why?” It was the only word that could come out from Junmyeon’s mouth. He couldn’t understand. Why was Yixing being like this? Because if Kyungsoo did this to him, he would’ve left Kyungsoo in an instant. Hell, he might even have killed someone if Kyungsoo cheated on him. “Why?”
Yixing sniffed and looked up, wiping the tear from his eye. He smiled. He smiled as if he was still the luckiest person in the world right now-even after everything that had happened.
“Because I love him.”
"But--"
"Always."
A/N (part 2): I seriously don't know why and how I wrote this because as far as I could remember, I was aiming for fluff filled with unicorns and rainbows but all of a sudden, this came out (probably because of Kris whoring around with Chanyeol and Tao after going on a date with Yixing at Disneyland? :3). And forgive me, because I suck at writing oh my god what did i just write /brb jumps off a cliff. OTL
