Sunday school

I realized on Sunday, after reading the church bulletin, that Penelope will be old enough to begin religious education this year. For 3- and 4-year-olds, my church has Sunday school during the 9 a.m. Mass. That's a little weird to me, because when I was a kid, Sunday school was the hour before church started, and the parents either ate doughnuts

Those all sound like a good base. As she gets older, you'll need to talk in the car about what she's learning. All the controversial stuff comes in the MUCH later years though. While I personally no longer believe in a personal God, I'm very glad my parents gave me religion as a kid.

I don't think I would force youth group, but I might encourage it. Lee was "forced" to do youth group and some other stuff into his teens, and he does regret it. I think I will probably insist on church attendance to a certain point, but I don't think I'll force confirmation. To me, that's the one that should be the individual's choice. The very name suggests it.
