My grandfather died yesterday. I don't really know how to feel. It feels really strange to write that down, even to say it. He was sick for a little while and we all knew it was coming. Hey Jess. Everybody (your mom, Aunt Judy, Uncle Steve, my dad) is over here talking about it, and about Friday and the ceremony and everything. It's sad, but at the same time at least you know that you have someone to go through this with you. And not only me, but our whole family and all of the people who care about you. I wasn't as close to our grandfather as maybe I could have been, but he was still family and it was through him that I got to be cousins with you and Matt. And it will be happy and relieving to see the California Kanes down here on Thursday. Call me anytime, okay?
