Sam hadn't yet figured out that Dean would do anything for him. Hopefully, he never would.
Oh but he did. Even enough to play Dean with his biggest weakness, namely him. I really like this and you portray so beautifully how well they really know each other. Very nice and I also dote on those last scenes with John which show him as the loving father we didn't get to see on screen often enough. Lovely work and thanks for sharing ♥

I'm glad you liked this. I'm with you about John. Every once in a while I like to see him as a father. He sacrificed himself for Dean and even Ellen (who didn't know Dean) knew they were close. It just stands to reason that even though John is all about being a drill sargeant, he really loves Dean. Loves Sam, too. I like to see his father side and we don't get to very often...in fic or canon.

Thank you! I think Sam's very sneaky. As for John, well, I've been surprised at the wonderful comments I've gotten about his characterization in this. It's just the way I saw him in my head. He's so complicated, but deep down, I know he loves Sam and Dean.

Maybe you could write a prequel to answer Sam's question about what set the migraine off this time; I'd adore it.
