I just bought my cap and gown for graduation!!  It's kind of like getting a halloween costume...but only in the way that you put it on and dance around your room, not in the way that it's actually scary.

Also, the academic hood baffles me.  I'm considering wearing mine like a scarf. :)

My only advice: hang it up soon. Leave it in the bathroom when you shower (if you have that as an option) and let it gradually unwrinkle. Don't wait until the last moment. And don't iron it.

Academic hoods are awesome.
