Vassar vs. Cal

Mar 31, 2008 20:32

I got into one of my dream schools, but my mom won't let me go. Instead, she wants me to go to Cal, which only offered me admission for the SPRING semester. So I'd have to attend that stupid fall program...

My heart is breaking. I don't know what the point of applying anywhere was anymore.

Wow Vassar. I guess I'm not too qualified to say, because I don't know your family, but it's ultimately up to you. You click the button, and you go to Vassar. I mean, your family wouldn't cut you off if you decided to go there right? Unless that's the case, follow your dream!

That is just wrong. It's your choice! If you don't want to go to Cal then DON'T GO! You deserve to go to Vassar! You've been dreaming about it for so long! Don't give up!

I have much the same situation... and TP says my mom can't do anything if I just submit my Statement of Intent. It's worth a big argument if it means the next 4 years of our lives.

Hi Jessie,

While Cal Spring Admit isn't that bad, a whole semester to be free (besides those pesky classes at Cal), I say go with your heart and go to Vassar. It shouldn't cost too much and doesn't your dad work in PA? You wouldn't be that far away from someone you know...

Remember these four years are the years you're supposed to learn how to be an adult and if you're living half an hour away, then you can't really grow... (iono, use this argument)
