What is this Lab-Band Surgery of which you speak?
-Simply put it is a simple procedure where they place an adjustable band around the top of my stomach restricting the amount of food that can pass through at one time as well as the size of my stomach. If you'd like to know more here and here are good places to start.

I think it's great that you've taken the decision because of your health. So many people would do it for purely superficial reasons.
I'd be glad to read about your experience and I definitely wish you luck with it.

Thanks. :) I don't want to say I don't imagine myself wearing clothes I can't wear now or thinking about finally looking in the mirror and really feeling good about what I see. But it was my health that ultimately made me decide to go through with it. Up until just recently when my hips started hurting I wouldn't have even considered it.

I think a lot of people didn't really understand my true reasons for doing this. Many of the people on this journal have never met me in person so don't know to what etent I am overweight. I don't mention it much because it is painful. I've been trying lately though and it feels good to admit it and get it out there. This post was scary becuase it is public and it has my weight and clothing size but I just tell myself that it's all about getting better.
