F this Noise

Since I have discovered that I can listen to music at work, I have been far more productive and less prone to furtively texting people in the bathroom and sneaking peeks at OKCupid. The time also moves a lot faster which is really nice. I've been listening to back episodes of This America Life and so I hope that I'm enriching myself in the ( Read more... )

hey as long as the island has our cats on and a refridgerator for our chocolate stash, i´ll go with you. i think its ridiculous to make fun of other peoples customs and culture. people with less education or less experience abroad tend to close their eyes and have a short view on such things. be glad you arent like that.

anyways, on the peace corps side of things...i wanted you to know i accepted an offer to serve in Central Asia :) They changed me from Eastern Europe to there so I´m super excited. Nothing like living in a yurt, learning Russian possibly, and drinking mares milk! I won´t know what exact country yet until probably 2 weeks from now when he sends out the invite. But I may be heading home soon. I´ll keep you updated.

Sorry about the idiots at work. Just know you are obviously more worldly than them. too bad for their ignorance.

Ugh it's not much of a consulation knowing that you are more worldly than those around you. It's kind of depressing actually. :( I just hope not everyone is like that. I tuned her out so I didn't hear if anyone agreed with her or told her off. I'm too insecure about being new to do it myself and I like to not get in fights with people at work anyway.

Yay!!! Congratulations!! Are you excited about it? I've always thought Russian was a gorgeous language and I'm sure the area will be beautiful. I'm excited to see you too! Maybe I'll be in my own apartment when you visit!! *crosses fingers*

I came across that Yahoo article about the turban last night--it was a tiny link at the bottom of a page. Today it's all i've f'in heard about and it makes me want to slap the nation as a whole...people go to foreign countries and people try on the traditional garb of said countries...it's what people DO!!! But these back-ass ignoramous fools have to make a big deal out of it and OMG I WANNA SCREAM.
;0)

HIllary even said that herself, as did Obama. It was the turban that's freaked everyone out,.. and it is so ridiculous!!!!

People are so ignorant and reactive too. It's scary that we live in a world were public opinion can be swayed by something so inocuous.

Hah definitely! We could just all start over. It would be like Lost only deliberate and with no confusing storylines.
