I would never kick you! I only kick people that really deserve it, although I did kick my grandpa once for no reason but I was like 7 years old. I've got a better understanding of justice now.
This is one of my favorite of gorey's drawings (and definitely my favorite of the gashleycrumb tinies). I almost used it for my valentine's card but since I was reinventing the text I decided it wasn't as interesting/clever without the blatant reference to gin (which I am sure is, in part, the source of its appeal). Anyway, I was glad to (just now for the first time) notice it; I always view your journal via my friends page and thus hadn't been privy to this entry.
I'm also partial to "K" is for Kate, struck down by an axe. I did use this one because of the gin reference, although like you said, I didn't think anyone else would think it was funny. I'm glad someone did. :)
In high school I once gave out Gorey christmas cards. I thought they were funny but my friends seemed confused. ::sigh::
hello! you don't know me, i found you by hopping from friend to friend and ended up looking you up. [i often look at people whose usernames i find either intriguing or interesting...]
My favorite is probably the Gashlycrumb Tinies. I had never seen The Blue Aspic so I looked it up. It's fabulous! I'm going to have to order myself a copy. :)

my art isn't something i can just *write* about!! it's something to express. almost as if, every link to my gum wrapper chain was me, and embodies some piece of my spirituality or cogniscence...
that, and it's really like trying to explain how to play piano over the phone. some things just don't translate into english very well. ...not that gum wrappers and pianos are really related.
glad the adding idea wasn't just a one-sided thing. it's comforting to think you aren't just doing this because you feel bad for me. and, if it really *was,* that can be your little secret... ;-)

Sounds pretty good to me. I live very far away. But if I ever come to Arizona (I have a friend who lives in Pheonix)I shall wear protective gear.
