Thanks! It was as amazing as it looks being out there :) If you ever wanna go hiking/camping/backpacking/whatever you are welcome to join me, I love having friends along. Last weekend Jess Tillman and her husband went with us and we had sooo much fun.. I will be posting pics of that trip next.
It is so strange to me that Jess still exists! That´s awesome.
I may take you up on that invitation sometime but the truth of the matter is you are in such better shape than I am. I still generaly go hiking alone because A) I´m so bad but also B) I´m slow for fun, too. :) At any rate. We should hang out when I get back! :)
Nonsense! Here's 5 good reasons you should go with me: 1. You must be in better shape than me if you could run the Bolder Boulder! 2. I am soooo slow at hiking, really... I was inching along way behind the rest of them, the truth is I like to hike slow too.. I like backpacking cause it forces James to slow down a bit! 3. You shouldn't hike alone!!! Last week in RMNP, the lost ranger.. he was way experienced in backcountry travel but hiked alone and sadly he did not survive this hike (you probably heard about it)... or Aaron Ralston I think was his name.. climbing alone and had to cut his hand off! Ok thats my point there :) 4. It's all about having fun and being in the outdoors, no competition whatsoever. 5. You were in Youth Naturally with me and in 1994 you and I puked at the same elevation and grudgingly trudged up the trail lagging behind all others with Mike saying "keep going, don't stop".. we hated it, but hey, we did it.. and I don't know about you but I loved hating it..
It's one of my favorite spots in the park definately and they did a nice job with all the new road and tourist area stuff.. problem is it's so crazy busy there now! They have the shuttle though (we took that tp get back to our car at Bear lake) and that was a super-nice service. We were the talk of the bus as most of the passengers had never seen a "backpacking backpack" before. One foreign lady just couldn't comprehend how we could possibly fit a tent on our backs!
