HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA! I just walked into my room and switched on the light. Beans (my possibly autistic dumbo) was perched on the side of the food bowl with her head COMPLETELY buried in the food. I laughed and put my finger thru and gave her a poke. SHe sat up and looked at me WITH A PIECE OF UNCOOKED RICE STICKING OUT HER NOSE. I picked her up and ( Read more... )

Hi, I hope you don't mind I decided to visit your lj rather than reply to the comment earlier - you were giving advice on the euthanasia.
Please don't take this the wrong way - but- are you alright? I know plenty of people have moments in their lives where they've considered suicide - but your researching it to the extent you have concerns me. I really don't want you to think I'm butting in, but I don't want to close my eyes to something that could be really serious...do you have friends, family, professionals that you can reach out to? If you don't reply to this...then i'll take that as an indication - you don't want me to bug you.
Just want to help..
my name is Leslie, by the way.

Thanks for taking an intrest. I go to therapy once a week. I am bipolar so most of the time I am alright. It just seems like the last few months have been really hard. I tend to obsess about things so I figured why not obsess about something good, like a pet? It gives me a reason to get up and they are a comferting distraction. It was just really hard to lose Tater and Spider. I got them so they could help me and I ended up unable to help them. But Beans is ok (although aloof) and I got her 2 friends today. So, once the quaranteen is over they can all play or ignore each other.

wow - I'm glad you got back to me.
I can completely relate to the obsessing, ups and downs, and whatnot...depression has been a big issue for me also. It's funny because my first connection with rats was when I had some real trauma in my life - and the bond that I developed with them was literally life saving. I don't know what it is about these little animals but I'm so thankful that they came into my life...and have never been out of it since!

Well, if you ever need some support, someone to vent to, etc. feel free to email or send me a post, whatever. And just remember - you have a responsibility to your ratties - so you can't be selfish!! so suicide ISN'T AN OPTION!! who would take care of them?

Wow, what a retarded comment, I just realized, you sound awesome, when your recent entries have been kind of chaotic. I meant you seem like you have a wonderful personality.
