I'm still in shock that the Rockies are going to the World Series and I helped by not watching any of the games. But they had a freakin' GALA last night to celebrate

I know! It'a a freakin' store! You only get stuff by giving them money!

OTOH, it's all advertising for them, and it's free advertising if it's mentioned on the news (which is probably was).

And if you're a Philistine because of this, so am I.

Although I'm a Twins fan, I will root for the Rockies. When they started up, I picked them over the Marlins to follow. That didn't last long, but I still hope the Rockies win the series.

And screw the networks. "Oh, woe is uw! Our advertising revenue will be down because we have freakin' Denver and Cleveland to cater to! We won't make as much money this time!"

A gala.

How bizarre; I've never heard of such a thing. A Neiman-Marcus opened within a mile of me recently, and there wasn't any gala.

Or possibly there was, and I wasn't invited.

"Keep it on the downlow from Wes," they muttered to each other in hushed tones.

If I ever have a gala, I will absolutely invite you. In fact, you can make the keynote speech. Do they have keynote speeches at galas? Perhaps we could have a regatta instead.
