I think you shouldn't just consider those two schools, cuz they definetly arn't the only ones out there. But if state is what you want, you should always go with that. Going somewhere to make your parents happy will only hurt you, and it's YOUR experience. If your parents arn't okay with that, what's it matter? you will see them at christmas and some weekends and they will say dumb things, but ALL the other days you will be happy at school.

But yeah, i still stick to my "you should check out other schools too" statement lol

That comment could be expected from your dad, lol

well, if you look at people thinking you're better than you, you might actually want to go on it. You said you do like State better, but if you know Michigan has better courses, I would suggest going there

(or were you saying that they just think that anyway?)

I have that problem here. But yeah. it's a tough decision. it's really up to you, and fuck what everyone else thinks about it.

i think you should deff. do exactly what makes you happy. if you don't think you'll be happy at UofM i don't think you should go there just because i know people who were like "i'm psyched about goin to UofM and it's gonna be great" but they still like totally hated it for their first couple of years because there are mostly stuck-up snobby east coast kids. Plus i think that as you grow up and get older and stuff you won't care as much about what other people think.. you'll realize it's just one of their flaws that they look down on you, cuz graduating from state is still deff. an accomplishment.

you could always like. apply at both schools and if you get accepted to UofM you could be like. "yeah... i got accepted to go to UofM but i decided it wasn't good enough for me." lol

aand yeah. alysha's probably right about the "other schools" thing.

Well, about other schools, I haven't seen one I've liked. Plus, my dad said, and I quote, "Your family won't think you're very smart if you don't go to Big 10 school. They won't say anything, but they'll think it."

what your dad thinks about where i end up in college is really the least of my worries, and i know wherever i end up my mom will be proud of me. Plus he must not know much about colleges then, cuz many private schools are harder to get into and much stricter than state or U of M. But yeah, if you've really looked and don't think other schools are right for you, then go with what YOU want.

Why? He was talking about me, not about anyone else. I don't see how you took it as a direct attack on you when he was saying MY family will think that JESSICA STURM is stupid.

I think that if you are more comfortable with state then do that. ur the one at the college not them, pretty much like everyone else said, its up to u. u can always change ur mind!

oh and really im confused!! how is putting the quote up there rude??? like.. really i dont understand, like how is she talking about where the rest of us are going? this whole thing was asking opinions about where jessi wants to go to college and where her dad wants her to go. i dont see how this involves where jessis dad wants US to go.. i dont see how people took it that way. really i dont. im not trying to argue more, but i dont want people to be mad at jessi cuz of that cuz it doesnt make any sense..
