So last night Annika started talking about these pens that everyone at her school has called Kookys. She said they had crazy hair and you can clip them to your badge [lanyard].

We sold those when I worked at the toy store. They were not a big seller at the time, but I guess they have caught on. I thought they were ridiculous. A pen! With a name! New ones every two months! ARGH! Enough with the collectibles!

But I know where Annika is coming from though. I remember being the one kid who didn't have X or Y. It is tough!

I remember being the one kid who didn't have X or Y too, so that's why she got an advance and a bit of a bonus on her allowance. ;)

Last night was the first time I had ever heard of them. Annika said that she and her friend R were just saying the other day that Kookys were silly and stupid, but then yesterday R said she was going to go buy some so I guess they both decided that they were no longer stupid.
