Today I will be leaving with Gregg in less than an hour to go to the annual Sonker festival. For those of you who do not live in the south, or are not familiar with "southern words", a sonker is a deep dish pie, often referred to as a "cobbler".... and i LOVE them so much ( Read more... )

Hey, girlness.

I'm still reading yer words, and you friggin' rock, of course.

Take care, keep both eyes on that hottie man of yours :P (Come on, I know he's hot in all the ways that matter!) and dont' sweat the small things. Stay tight to the ties that matter, and keep real friends close.

Trust is not given freely, it is earned through many many years of endurance and false tries.

thank you kyrah you are adorable <3
even though i don't always comment i do read your entries and love you to death because you are one of the most free people that i know as far as you don't care about what others think about what you say and do and i really admire that !
"many many years of endurance and false tries" that is so very true. i only trust gregg because we were great friends before we decided to take it further. i like to keep my circle tight and i know you feel the same way.
thank you for your kind words kyrah jade <3

Well I wrote you a comment in my journal. It's not that I'm mad at you, I'm just truly hurt that you don't trust me at all. Well if you read the comment I wrote it explains everything

don't be hurt because i don't trust anyone completely, not even my own mother and father. gregg is the only one and that is because of very personal things that i don't even discuss in my journal. i would definatly put you with the people that i consider to be the best friends on lj because i actually read your entries and we comment back and forth and i do that with only about 10% of the people on my list. i do like you and respect you and apologize. thank you for not deleting me. hopefully all this can just be forgotten. if you truly look at the whole picture you would have questioned the same things because i know you are that type of person... someone who actually opens their eyes to the world around them and doesn't just let it pass them by unoticed. ... that is one of the reasons i have followed you around throughout your multiple journals and one of the reasons it is important to me that you understand where i am coming from. i read the comment, and commented and from what i can see, that is the end of the whole thing.

Living here in New York my whole life,I have heard of cobbler but never Sonker and mmmmmmmmm that sounds sooooo good. That mixed with having it at a historic house out on the country....!

The South really knows how to live it up sometimes...;)..

i just arrived home from being at the sonker festival for a couple of hours and it was wonderful :)
the house was built in the 1700s and there was original faux finish paint from 1792 still on the walls... partially restored of course...
the porch was filled with at least 13 or 14 older folks playing banjos, fiddles, guitars, strange rhythm instruments, and a stand up bass. it was so wonderful! the sonker was good too :) i had peach sonker and my boyfriend had sweet potato!

Hey there -

I came across your LJ through your kind response to my question re: NC. I'm procrastinating on studying and thought I'd kill a few more minutes. Such a bad idea! I read the first paragraph of this post and now I'm thinking of cobbler pie in historic houses with people playing bluegrass, thinking how much I'd love to be there already. Much as I've loved LA, I'm read for something calmer. To not fall asleep to the sound of the freeway next to my house, but to insects in the night. I'm such an idealist. *laugh* Anyhow, I hope you have an awesome time at the sonker festival, good enough for you and anyone else who wishes they were there instead. *smile*

Also... good luck resolving things which are causing you sadness. I'm finally finding a bit of peace about recent situations, and it's... good. I hope it lasts.

cheers,
d

if those are the things you are looking for then north carolina is the perfect place to go! the great thing is that there are large cities here but they still have a small town feel and a five minute drive can take you to the country... surrounded by old barns, cow pastures, fields of wildflowers... mountains as far as you can see... it is amazingly beautiful here! and, if you want to go to the beach, the beaches here are some of the best in the US and only 6 hours away from the mountains which isn't too far....
i hope you don't mind, i added you to my friend's list... i would love to keep up with what you decide to do and you seem like a very interesting person!
